Today we reaffirmed our commitment to building a skilled and employable generation by awarding N$1.05 million to seven schools across seven regions through the 2026/27 Pre-Vocational Education Support Awards. Each beneficiary school received N$150,000.00 to strengthen the teaching of pre-vocational subjects that will expose learners to technical and vocational careers from an early age.

The awards, presented at the NTA Village Hall in Windhoek, form part of our broader strategy to strengthen Namibia's skills pipeline and ensure more young people are prepared for vocational training, employment and entrepreneurship. Speaking at the event, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, Honourable Dino Ballotti, described the initiative as an investment in equity and opportunity, emphasising that every learner deserves access to quality technical and vocational education, regardless of where they live.

The beneficiary schools are:

//Garibams Secondary School (//Kharas)
Haudano Secondary School (Omusati)
Namavambi Combined School (Kavango West)
Nossob Combined School (Omaheke)
Nsundano Secondary School (Zambezi)
Oluwaya Combined School (Ohangwena)
Putuavanga Junior Secondary School (Kunene)

We proudly celebrate the outstanding spirit, determination and sportsmanship displayed by Team NTA at the 2026 Public Enterprises Games, held in Rundu from 2 to 4 July.

Among the standout performances were Magdalena Tobias, who secured an impressive Top 10 finish in the women's 10 km race, while our women's 4x100m relay team sprinted to a well-deserved silver medal in the relay finals. The relay team, which took part in the heats and finals, was Julia Kandjimbi, Lucia Leonard, Helena Hamukoto, Jeanette Kamati, Ndapandula Iiyambo and Peneyambeko Aulumba.

Representing the NTA CEO, Chief Financial Officer, Claretta Gamses, congratulated Team NTA on their brave performances, commitment and professionalism throughout the tournament. She commended every athlete for proudly representing the NTA and embodying the organisation's values both on and off the field.

The annual event brought together approximately 4,000 participants from 47 state-owned enterprises, reaffirming the power of sport to strengthen teamwork, wellness and collaboration across the public sector.

Congratulations to all our athletes for flying the NTA flag with pride. We also congratulate the organisers on a successful event and look forward to the next edition as the Public Enterprises CEOs' Forum continues to use sport to foster unity, wellness and collaboration across Namibia's public enterprises.

The Namibia Training Authority (NTA) wishes all public enterprise teams, especially our own football, netball, volleyball, 10 km run, darts, relay and tug-of-war teams, the very best at the Public Enterprises Games in Rundu, held alongside the Public Enterprises CEO Forum.

As public enterprises gather to strengthen collaboration and service delivery, the Games remind us of the power of teamwork, discipline and unity. Compete with pride, uphold our values and enjoy the spirit of camaraderie.

We are proud to join fellow public enterprises in Rundu for this year's Public Enterprises Games, taking place alongside the 11th Annual General Meeting of the Public Enterprises CEO Forum. The two events underscore a shared purpose: building stronger public institutions through collaboration, leadership and service to the people of Namibia. While the CEO Forum focuses on strategic direction, the Games reinforce the teamwork, discipline and camaraderie that enable public enterprises to deliver on their mandates.

Officially opening the Games on behalf of the Prime Minister, Honourable Dr Emma Kantema, Minister of Gender and Child Welfare, encouraged participants to use sport as a platform to strengthen partnerships, build cohesive teams and uphold the values of ethics, discipline and collaboration. She reminded participants that public enterprises share a common responsibility - to improve service delivery and contribute to Namibia's socio-economic development.

As Team NTA competes, we proudly represent the values that define our organisation: collaboration, responsiveness, accountability, inclusiveness and quality. We wish our colleagues every success on and off the field as they build lasting relationships that extend well beyond the final whistle.

Good luck, Team NTA! Let's compete with pride, respect and purpose.
