🌟 THE STORY OF THE TOURNAMENT – 14-YEAR-OLD FRANCOIS HANEKOM JNR! 🌟

At only 14 years old, Francois Hanekom Jnr produced one of the biggest moments of the tournament when he defeated professional PSA player Arno Diekmann for the very first time in his life! 🔥💪

In an incredible 67-minute battle, the young Francois showed tremendous determination and fighting spirit to claim an unforgettable 3–2 victory over one of Namibia’s top and most experienced players.

7–11, 11–6, 12–10, 7–11, 9–11

To defeat a professional PSA player at only 14 years old is an incredible achievement and a very special moment for Francois and Namibian squash! 🇳🇦👏🏆

This weekend promises to be a fantastic celebration of squash, with players from across Namibia taking to the courts and battling it out for the FabuPharm Open title.

The A Division is looking particularly exciting, with some of Namibia’s top players in action, including Arno Diekmann, Le-Hugo van Rooyen and 14-year-old Francois Hanekom. 🇳🇦🔥

Francois may only be 14, but he is already one of Namibia’s top players and has been competing in A League for quite some time. He also represented Namibia at the Jarvis Cup, making his place among the country’s top young players even more impressive. 👏

And then we have Carla Nortje, Namibia’s number one lady, taking on a different challenge by playing in the Men’s B Division! 💪🔥

There is going to be plenty of exciting squash to watch, with experienced players, rising talent and some great match-ups across the divisions.

Another Successful Jarvis Comes to an End!

Our Namibia A team has returned home after an exciting week of squash at the 2026 Growthpoint Jarvis Kaplan Tournament in South Africa, where they proudly competed in the C Section.

The team displayed tremendous determination, resilience and sportsmanship throughout the tournament, finishing 4th overall.

Final C Section Standings:
🥇 SACD C – 49 points
🥈 Western Province – 34 points
🥉 Northerns C – 31 points
🏅 Namibia A – 28 points

Jarvis Kaplan Tournament – Final Day Update from Mossel Bay

The final day has arrived here in Mossel Bay, and our Jarvis team is ready for one last battle at the annual Jarvis Kaplan Tournament.

Yesterday brought a thrilling encounter against SACD C, with both teams showing the true spirit of competitive squash. Although the final score went in favour of SACD C (15/11), the match was filled with quality squash, determination, and some incredible rallies.

Match results:
Danie Greeff – won 3/1
Francois Hanekom (Junior) – won 3/0
Christof Knoetze – lost 3/1
Le-Hugo van Rooyen – lost 3/2
Arno Diekmann – lost 3/2

A special mention must go to Le-Hugo and Arno, who both took their matches into the fifth game. The margins were incredibly small, and both players fought for every single point in matches that could easily have gone either way. These are the moments that make team squash so exciting to watch.

The team now faces Western Province C today at 12:00 in their final fixture. With the standings still wide open, there is everything to play for, and the team can still finish in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th position.

We are extremely proud of the way our players have represented Namibia, showing commitment, fighting spirit, and true sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

JARVIS KAPLAN TOURNAMENT UPDATE – MOSSSEL BAY

What a battle! 💪

Our Namibian Jarvis team continues to fly the Namibian flag high at the annual Jarvis Kaplan Tournament in Mossel Bay, South Africa.

Yesterday, the boys faced one of the toughest teams in the competition, Northerns, in an encounter that went right down to the wire.

Although the result didn't fall our way, every single player left everything on the court and showcased the determination, fighting spirit and sportsmanship that Namibia is so proud of.

The challenge doesn't get any easier! At 09:00 this morning, our boys take on SACD C, the only unbeaten side in the tournament and the current front-runners. It will take heart, grit and an incredible team effort—but if there's one thing we've learned from this group, it's that they never stop fighting.
