đź”´Proprioception Trainingđź”´

Proprioception is basically your body’s ability to know where your joints and limbs are without looking at them.

For example, when you stand on one leg, your brain constantly receives information from your ankle, knee and hip to help you maintain balance.

Proprioception training helps improve balance, joint control and movement awareness. It is especially useful in rehabilitation and sports performance.

Most people think VO₂max is the ultimate measure of fitness. The truth? It’s only one piece of the puzzle.

Two athletes can have the exact same VO₂max but perform very differently. Why? Because performance isn’t determined by aerobic capacity alone.

In this video, we’ll explore what truly matters beyond VO₂max:
• Aerobic Capacity (VO₂max)
• Lactate Threshold (VT1 & VT2)
• Personalized Heart Rate Training Zones
• Oxygen Utilization Efficiency
• Ventilatory (CO₂) Efficiency
• Performance-Limiting Factor Analysis
• Fuel Utilization Insights
• Training Intensity Optimization
• Should You Build Your Aerobic Base or Increase Speed?
• Data-Driven Training Recommendations

If you’re relying only on your smartwatch’s VO₂max score, you’re missing the information that actually helps you train smarter and perform better.

Train with data, not guesswork.

🧠💪Why Resistance Training Matters in Neurorehabilitation 🧠💪

When people hear “strength training,” they often think it’s only about building bigger muscles.

In neurorehabilitation, it’s much more than that.

After a neurological injury or condition, the challenge isn’t just muscle weakness, it’s that the brain and nervous system have difficulty communicating with those muscles.

That’s where resistance training becomes essential.

âś…Improves muscle activation and coordination
✅Promotes neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to adapt and reorganize)
âś…Increases strength for everyday activities
âś…Enhances balance and walking ability
âś…Reduces fall risk
âś…Restores confidence and independence

The goal isn’t simply to lift heavier weights.

The goal is to help the nervous system produce stronger, more coordinated, and more functional movement that carries over into daily life.

In neurorehabilitation, we’re not just training muscles—we’re retraining the nervous system.

⚽️HIP LABRAL TEAR REHAB - MID TO END STAGE⚽️

One of the biggest mistakes in rehab is rushing back to running based on time alone. We took a different approach.

Instead of guesswork, we focused on building the foundations first:

âś… Restore strength and capacity
âś… Progress loading systematically
âś… Monitor objective data throughout the rehab journey
âś… Set clear criteria and milestones before advancing to the next stage

Every progression was earned, not assumed. Decisions were based on measurable performance rather than symptoms alone, giving us greater confidence that the hip could tolerate increasing demands safely.

Now we are in the end-stage phase of rehabilitation. The focus has shifted towards gradually increasing weekly running volume while continuing to develop maximum strength and overall tissue capacity. This continuum is crucial not just for returning to run, but for staying injury-free and performing at a higher level.

đź”´HIP LABRAL TEAR REHAB - MID TO LATE STAGE đź”´

After successfully building maximal strength and passing our objective testing criteria, the next phase is the introduction of Stage 1 plyometrics. This is where we begin teaching the body to absorb and produce force efficiently through controlled jumping and landing drills.

Strength remains a key component throughout this phase. We continue our maximal strength work while gradually exposing the athlete to plyometric demands to prepare the hip, muscles, and tendons for higher-speed movements.

Why is this important?

Because running, cutting, changing direction, and jumping place significantly greater forces on the hip compared to traditional strength exercises. Skipping this step may leave the athlete unprepared for the demands of sport.

Rehab is about bridging the gap between the gym and the field. Build strength. Develop force absorption. Progress plyometrics. Then earn the right to return to high-intensity sport safely and confidently.

🏸🎾 Why We Train Speed-Strength for Racket Sport Athletes🏸🎾

A common misconception is that stronger athletes automatically move faster.

Not necessarily.

In racket sports, the ability to produce force quickly is often more important than the ability to produce maximum force.

Every explosive movement on court from the split step, first-step acceleration, recovery movement, lunge, jump smash, and change of direction depends on how fast an athlete can apply force into the ground.

This is what we call speed-strength.

That’s why our athletes don’t just lift heavy weights. We also incorporate explosive movements such as:
▶️ Split Jerks
▶️ Push Jerks
▶️ Jump Variations
▶️ Medicine Ball Throws
▶️ Plyometric Drills

The goal is simple:

Train the body to produce force faster.

When athletes improve their speed-strength, they often experience:
âś… Faster court coverage
âś… Quicker reactions to shots
âś… More explosive movement
âś… Improved recovery between movements
âś… Greater power transfer during smashes and serves

Strength builds the engine.

Speed-strength teaches athletes how to use that engine when it matters most during competition.

Train for the demands of your sport, not just the numbers in the gym.
