Not a great fan of last minute orders especially if its a wedding cake where everything has got to be perfect..this was requested 3 days before the event by a friend and on top of 2 other cake orders..haha i wondered why i said yes whilst i went through countless hiccups of having the correct board size to not having the correct thickness to the cake board to hours of icing n smoothing the cake to worrying about having a reliable last minute driver to transport it safely..in the end everything kinda fell together nicely and i am trully thankful for the trust..happy it turned out well n learned so much about long cakes and how to make it work…
So heres sharing my very first vintage decorated 18 inch long cake made out of 3kgs of sugee almond buttercake.

To complete this special day, this simple double flavour 2 tier wedding cake was made in almond butter and pandan coconut covered in butter icing and decorated with my handmade sugar roses.
