Not your usual pre-Merdeka post š¶
In a country that talks so often about what makes us different, it was a reminder of how much we share. The pressure, the worry, the heavy weeks, they turn up in all of us.
When we looked across Malay, Chinese and Indian working adults, the results were similar across all groups.
A note: we focused on the three largest groups in our sample. Colleagues of other backgrounds were fewer and too varied to fairly group as one but their results were broadly in line with everyone elseās.

Part 4/ 6
Based on our findings, women reported noticeably higher anxiety than men. And before anyone calls it āoversensitivityā, it isnāt. Itās a pattern researchers see almost everywhere in the world.
So why?
Researchers point to the load many women carry AT ONCE: leading at work, while still doing most of the caregiving at home alongside hormonal shifts and a greater tendency to sit with worry.
None of this makes anxiety a weakness. If anything, it makes it understandable. And what we can name, we can start to work with.
What else did we find out? Follow along š

This month, re:mind turns 4. š±
Over the past four years, weāve had the privilege of working with many organisations across Malaysia, running training and wellness programs for their teams. And every time, we tried to include a mental health screening.
Why? Because weāve always cared about organisational health as a whole, not just the individual. But hereās the thing, there just isnāt much up-to-date data on how working adults in Malaysia are actually doing. So we thought why not put together our own little analysis?
So we did. We looked back at 2,319 working adults we had screened at these wellness events.
These are everyday employees, not people seeking help and hereās what we found. Swipe to read more. š
š A disclaimer, of course. This is our own data and it may not represent the whole population. But itās a real snapshot of the people weāve sat with and we think itās worth sharing.
Over the next few posts, weāre unpacking which struggle showed up most and whoās feeling it. Follow along š

You brought your child in for an assessment or a consultation, maybe just to understand their behaviour a little better.
And somewhere in that conversation, you quietly thought āHey, that sounds like me too.ā
According to the DSM-5, ADHD frequently goes unrecognised in adults, particularly parents, until a closer look at their childās behaviour brings decades of patterns into focus for the first time.
The late mornings. The hyperfocus on the things you love and the things you forget. The guilt for losing patience faster than you wished you would.
Itās not a parenting failure. It might be something youāve carried, undiagnosed, your whole life.
Swipe through to see if this sounds familiar.
š¬ Save this. Share it with another parent who might need to see it

If you live with, love, or work alongside someone with OCD, this oneās for you.
Most content about OCD is written for the person experiencing it. This one isnāt.
According to the DSM-5, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is characterised by intrusive, unwanted thoughts and repetitive behaviours performed to reduce the distress those thoughts cause. Itās not about being tidy or particular and itās not something they can simply āsnap out of.ā
What they need from the people around them is rarely what feels intuitive - not more reassurance, logic, and fixing because this often make it harder.
Swipe through for what actually helps and what to avoid.
š¬ Save this if someone in your life needs the people around them to understand this better.
