Perenang muda berbakat dari Sailfish Swimming Club Ryan Liaw Chee Heng dipilih mewakili Malaysia pada Kejohanan Renang Kumpulan Umur Asia Ke-12 yang bermula di Bangkok, Thailand hari ini hingga 22 Julai depan.

Ryan, 16, merupakan satu-satunya perenang dari Miri yang berjaya menempatkan diri dalam skuad kebangsaan bagi kejohanan berprestij itu, sekali gus mencatat satu lagi pencapaian membanggakan buat arena renang di bandar raya Miri.

*Miri’s Sole Swimmer Selected to Represent Malaysia at the 12th Asian Age Group Swimming Championships 2026*

MIRI, SARAWAK – Miri’s swimming community has another reason to celebrate as *Ryan Liaw Chee Heng* of SAILFISH SWIMMING CLUB has been selected to represent Malaysia at the *12th Asian Age Group Swimming Championships 2026.*

The prestigious championship will be held from 16–22 July 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, bringing together Asia’s top young swimmers to compete at the highest level.

Ryan is the only swimmer from Miri selected to represent Malaysia at this championship. His selection is a testament to years of dedication, perseverance, discipline, and consistent performances in national competitions.

Adding to this remarkable achievement, Ryan has also been selected to represent Sarawak at the 2026 Malaysia Games (SUKMA), which will be held next month in Selangor. Competing at both the international and national levels within such a short period is a reflection of his outstanding talent, commitment, and hard work.

Ryan’s achievements have brought immense pride not only to SAILFISH SWIMMING CLUB but also to the entire Miri swimming community. His success serves as an inspiration to young swimmers, demonstrating that with determination, discipline, and perseverance, local athletes can reach the international stage.
