Weekday Pickleballers was formed in Sept 2024, posessing nothing else except a keen interest in this new sport called pickleball and wanting to gather like-minded enthusiasts together for friendly social games. We wanted a community where everyone can be friendly and sociable, but also competitive and motivated to improve each other’s skills at the same time.

Fast forward 6 months later, and Weekday, together with 3 Bears Events, successfully organized our first Dreambreaker Team Tournament - a team event incorporating the “Dreambreaker” format of tiebreak currently being practiced in the MLP!

WHY DREAMBREAKER?
As a racquet (or paddle) sport played in singles or doubles, the element of teamwork and strategy is naturally lesser compared to team sports like football or basketball. The concept of a Dreambreaker, where everyone in a team takes turns to play in the same game, was very intriguing to us. Add on the variable of different sequence of pairs, and suddenly there are so many possible outcomes that can happen! We knew this would bring everyone in a team together, and so we wanted to expose more players to this format of play. Overall everyone seems to have enjoyed it very much, so this shouldn’t be the last time you see us organizing a Dreambreaker event!

There are so many people to thank for making this event a success :
- To the 20 team captains who took the effort to gather players and form teams (and keep them all in line),
- To the 110 players who showed up and listened to instructions so everything went smoothly,
- To the TOs and Refs (.new Coach Richard & Suyen) who are the unsung heroes of every tournament,
- To our sponsors, .my .co for your trust in us as first-time event organizers, we will never forget it!
- And lastly, to ,for graciously allowing us to host this event at this amazing facility which had only just opened the day we confirmed the booking for the event!
