GOOD NEWS! The authorities will reopen Pulau Payar Marine Park from 1.11.2021 onwards with new policies as below:
πŸ”΄ Max 100 pax tourists per week
πŸ”΄ Closed on Tue & Wed every week
πŸ”΄ Closed from March to May every year
πŸ”΄ Only ferries/passenger boats via jetty terminals supervised by Jabatan Laut are allowed to enter Payar.

In addition, there are also new requirements to follow and additional licenses that tour operators must apply in order to operate at Payar. We will need time to prepare (estimate a few weeks) and will update when we are ready to resume operation, along with info on our revised packages, rates, and operation details. No bookings will be accepted at the moment until then.

Many commercial sunscreens contain chemical substances that are harmful to coral reefs. Do check the ingredients beforehand or opt for safe alternatives such as long sleeves/pants, coconut oil, aloe vera, sesame oil.

Did you know? Pterois, or more commonly known as Lionfish, have 18 venomous spines but not to worry, it is a defence mechanism and is only triggered when being attacked by predators. Their sting can be very painful to humans, with side effects such as nausea and breathing difficulty, but it is rarely fatal. Lionfish is another species that can be found at the coral reef of Pulau Payar Marine Park.

Did you know? Amphiprioninae, or more commonly known as Clownfish, are born male and have the ability to switch their s*x when the need arises, which is to become the dominant female in their own group and this change is permanent. Clownfish is one of the species that can be found at the coral reef of Pulau Payar Marine Park.
