U12 Pickleball Fun Demo in Kuching- A Big Hit!*

We did it! Daywalker’s Junior & VIBRANCE Pickleball Group hosted our first *U12 Fun Demonstration* at Pikabol, Kuching 🎉

18 kids aged 7-12 joined us for a morning of pickleball, games, and lots of laughter. Our goal was simple: _learn through fun_. And it worked!

The best part? Parents were so impressed they’re already asking us: “When’s the next one?”

Huge thank you to KPA for endorsing the event and supporting junior development in Sarawak.

We gathered to celebrate our young stars who made Kuching proud by clinching the title of *CHAMPIONS* at the *Sarawak U18 Inter Division Junior Pickleball Championship in Sibu on 26 July 2026* 🎉

The highlight of the evening: *Champion Certificates* were presented to each player, a small token for a BIG achievement earned through sweat, teamwork, and Sarawak spirit.

Borneo's next generation just got its first champion. Kuching crowned Sarawak's first-ever U18 pickleball champion, a milestone moment for a state that has been aggressively backing the sport. It is proof that the youth pipeline in East Malaysia is not just talk: real juniors, real brackets, and now a real title-holder to point to. For a scene this young, the first champion always matters most.

Kuching Juniors Serve With Heart: Unity, Growth, and Pickleball in Sibu

SIBU, 24 Jun 2026 — The paddles were light, but the dreams were big.

This weekend, the Kuching Division Junior Pickleball Team made their way to Sibu to compete in the Inter Division Junior Pickleball Tournament, carrying more than just gear bags. They carried a message: that sports can build character, create bonds, and bring Sarawak together.

For 5 boys and 4 girls from Kuching, this tournament wasn’t just about points and podiums. It was their first big stage outside home — a chance to test skills, make friends, and grow.

More Than Medals: Playing for Experience
Pickleball is fast, fun, and still new to many. But for these Kuching juniors, it’s becoming a way of life.

The goal in Sibu was clear: exposure and experience. Competing against the best juniors from other divisions means sharper reflexes, better strategy, and the kind of confidence you can’t get from training alone.

But the coaching team had an even bigger scoreboard in mind.

“We want them to learn teamwork, discipline, and how to win and lose with grace,” said one of the Kuching coaches. “Every rally teaches them about resilience. Every handshake after a match teaches them about sportsmanship.”

On and off the court, the team worked on communication, supporting each other, and building the kind of trust that turns 9 individuals into one team.

9 Players, Many Stories, One Sarawak
What makes this Kuching team special is what Sarawak is known for — unity in diversity.

The 9 players come from different races, speak different languages at home, and live in different neighborhoods across Kuching Division. On the court, those differences disappear. There’s only “us.”

They cheer in Iban, Mandarin, Malay, and English. They share snacks, strategies, and stories between matches. For many, this is the first time traveling together, staying together, and representing Kuching together.

That is the point. Through sport, we inculcate an active lifestyle and a love for the game, but we also grow young people who respect each other, work together, and are proud to be Sarawakians.

Sibu Welcomes, Kuching Learns
The Inter Division Junior Pickleball Tournament in Sibu brought together the future of the sport in Sarawak. Fast rallies, big smiles, and lots of learning.

Win or lose, every match gave the Kuching juniors something valuable: the experience of competing, the lesson of bouncing back, and the memory of standing together as a team.

As they head back to Kuching, these 5 boys and 4 girls aren’t just bringing back tournament experience. They’re bringing back stronger friendships, better teamwork, and a deeper love for sports.

Because at the end of the day, pickleball is the vehicle. Character, unity, and Sarawak pride are the real wins.
