TD Pop-up Class | 13.09.2026: Contemporary dance collab class by Derek & Camy

🦹🦸‍♀️About the Instructor:

Derek is a dancer with more than 18 years experience in Breaking, Contemporary and Hip hop. He has performed and placed in competitions in the UK, KL and Kuching such as World of Dance, DanceBox, Artistreet, Go Hard or Go Home (UK) and Kuching Youth Jam.

Camy is a multidisciplinary dancer versed in contemporary, heels, and street jazz, who has performed and placed in competitions in KL and Kuching such as FotB and Hot Heels. She has trained with international teachers from USA and Australia, nurturing her love for floorwork and contemporary flow. She brings a focus on emotion, intentionality and mobility in her dance practice, and a love for sharing her craft and choreography.

Our young dancers represented TD at the recent Unity Dance Challenge (UDC) Competition!

Special shout-out to Kelvin, Timothy, Jon & Selena—first-time competition dancers—bringing Hip Hop Dance to the stage. So proud to see you shining with that natural cool & chill vibe.

Also, huge kudos to Felicia, who stepped up to take on the challenge and performed Mejance (Belly Dance) as a soloist, well done!

Big thanks to the organiser, Persatuan Perpaduan Seni Tari Kuching. Appreciate you bringing together dancers locally and internationally in Kuching to celebrate dance as one community.

TD Pop-up Class | 04.09.2026: Popping introductory by Brendan

🤖About the Instructor:
Brendan is a dancer with 13 years of dance experience. He currently works as a Popping instructor in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China, and has delivered standout results across competitions, including winning Dog Eat Dog (2026) as 2on2 Popping Champion, taking the 2025 Popping Champion title at 奇门遁甲 and 2025 连震 (Zhejiang Region), and claiming Champion at 天下布舞 (2024, Zhejiang Region); he also placed 2nd at POPPERS DREAM (2024, Zhejiang Region) and FUNK IN EP (2024, Hangzhou), plus winning HYBRID Isolation (2023) 1v1 in Singapore and OPG Jam (2022) 2on2 Popping Champion in Malaysia.

Preparing them for a performance, from zero to a complete piece, was such a great memory, full of laughter, and of course, hard work at the same time, under the guidance of our instructor, Lina.
