Kuching Taekwondo & Self-Defence Academy WTF

A total of 300 young athletes from Kuching and Samarahan came together for the Kuching - Samarahan Invitational Taekwondo (WT) Championship 2026, competing in Kyorugi and Poomsae.

More than medals, it was about courage, discipline, determination and the spirit to keep improving. Every match was a chance to learn, grow and become stronger.

A big thank you to all parents, coaches, officials, volunteers, sponsors and supporters for making the championship a success.

With the PTNS-SSC-MSNS State Interclub Taekwondo (WT) Championship in Sibu coming up, keep training hard, stay focused and believe in yourself!

Taekwondo Upgrading Examination Successfully Concluded!

The Kuching Taekwondo & Self-Defence Club (WTF) successfully conducted its two-day Taekwondo Upgrading Examination over the weekend at our training venue in Taman Heritage, Petra Jaya.

Despite the hot weather, all participants demonstrated excellent discipline, determination, confidence and fighting spirit throughout the examination.

A heartfelt thank you to Grand Master Tan Check Joon for serving as examiner, and to all our coaches, assistants, parents and guardians for their valuable support and cooperation.

Kuching Taekwondo & Self-Defence Club (WTF) athletes shine at Austrian Open Poomsae G1 2026

Our very own KTSDC model athletes ~ Randy Owen Ak Augustine Linggi, Fedealis Kom Anak Twin, Harry Daniel Anak Hunter, and Anuwath A/L Sarat, together with their national teammates from across Malaysia, delivered an outstanding performance at the Austrian Open Poomsae G1 2026, held from 20–21 June 2026 in Vienna, Austria.

Among the notable achievements:
• Gold🥇 Under 30 Male Team: Randy Owen Ak Augustine Linggi , Fedealis Kom Anak Twin and Yeap Zhi Bin

• Silver🥈 Under 17 Freestyle Male Individual: Harry Daniel Anak Hunter

• Bronze🥉 Under 17 Male Individual: Harry Daniel Anak Hunter

• Bronze🥉 Under 17 Freestyle Male Individual: Anuwath A/L Sarat

Team Malaysia finished as Overall Champion with a total of 6 Gold, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze medals.

Another Taekwondo Upgrading Examination for KTSDC members has been successfully completed!

The examination was carefully conducted over 3 days, covering members from beginner belts to junior black belts, ensuring a smoother, more organised, and comfortable session for everyone involved.

We are proud of all members who gave their very best and demonstrated excellent discipline, perseverance, spirit, and determination throughout the examination.

A heartfelt thank you to Grand Master Tan Check Joon, the examiner, coaches, assistants, parents, and guardians for your patience, understanding, and continuous support during the entire session. Your encouragement and cooperation truly contribute to the growth and success of our students.

Valuable exposure and proud achievements for KTSDC junior athletes as they contributed 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze medals to Sarawak’s success at the 15th TM-KBS-Milo National Junior Taekwondo (WT) Championship 2026 held in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.

This achievement is not only about medals, but also about discipline, perseverance, courage and the fighting spirit shown by every athlete throughout the championship. Every match was a lesson, every challenge was an opportunity to grow stronger, and every victory was earned through dedication and hard work.

KTSDC selected athletes and coaches have officially departed for Kuala Lumpur to join fellow PTNS (TM/ WT) affiliated clubs’ athletes and coaches from other divisions before heading to Nilai, Negeri Sembilan for the prestigious 15th TM-KBS-Milo National Junior Taekwondo WT Championship 2026!

Organised by Taekwondo Malaysia (TM/WT) with the support of Kementerian Belia & Sukan (KBS) Malaysia, the championship will take place from 15 to 17 May 2026 at N9 Arena, Negeri Sembilan.

This is more than just a competition. It is a battle of spirit, discipline, courage, and pride. Our young warriors will step onto the mats carrying the dreams, determination, and fighting spirit of SARAWAK!

KTSDC Taekwondo (WTF) Kyorugi & Poomsae Championship 2026 Concludes Successfully

The KTSDC (WTF) Taekwondo Kyorugi & Poomsae Championship 2026 was successfully held at the Sarawak SUKMA Taekwondo Training Centre, Petra Jaya, with around 200 athletes from across Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Bau, and Lundu.

Participants from schools, colleges, and training centres showcased impressive skill, discipline, and sportsmanship in both sparring and poomsae events.

Organised by Kuching Taekwondo & Self-Defence Club (WTF), the championship served as a key preparation platform for the upcoming State Championship in Bintulu (17–18 April 2026).

Special acknowledgment is accorded to Tuan Azizul Annuar Adenan, the President of PTNS (TM/ WT), Master Tan Check Joon, Malaysian Red Crescent Society, RELA, advisors, sponsors, donors, supporters, officials, coaches, parents, guardian and volunteers for their invaluable assistance, cooperation, and dedication for making this event a success!
