This good weather has meant a lot of skating which is the best ☀️
Skating in the heat?
💧 Hydration
• Drink water before, during & after skating
• Aim ~500ml per hour (don’t wait to feel thirsty)
🧴 Sun Protection
• Use SPF 30+ sunscreen
• Apply before skating and reapply during long sessions
• Wear sunglasses to protect eyes from UV rays & glare
🪖👕 Gear
• Wear a ventilated helmet for protection + cooling
• Choose light, loose, light-coloured clothing to reflect heat
🧊 Recovery / Cooling
• Bring a cool bag with frozen water bottles
• Use them for hydration later and quick cooling on neck/body between skates.

Sharing My Thoughts
After graduating with my Master’s from Victoria University, I never really stopped learning. Life has continued to bring new challenges, opportunities, and lessons.
My 30 years in the corporate world taught me about leadership, discipline, and responsibility. But eventually, I realised that the corporate life was not where my heart was. I decided to take a different path and challenge myself by focusing on a journey to skate and truly life-changing experience for me.
Skating has taught me to keep moving forward every day, no matter what obstacles come my way. 🛼⛸️
The freedom to skate, travel, explore new places, meet amazing people, experience different cultures, and appreciate the beauty of our environment has become a lifelong quest for me.
Looking back, I’ve learned that sometimes the biggest opportunities in life begin when we have the courage to step outside our comfort zone.
I came across a quote yesterday:

One of the most common mistakes in inline figure skating is spinning only on the toe stop.
A good spin should find the right balance between the first wheel and the toe stop (not just the toe stop). This helps create better stability, smoother rotation, and cleaner technique.
The key is to keep practicing your foot placement until you find that “sweet spot.” It takes a little patience, but once you find your balance, your spins will feel much more controlled and effortless. 🛼✨

As an inline skater, I love going out, exploring different places, and bringing my skates along wherever I go. 🛼💯
Whether it’s a park, city walkway, new skate spot, or skatepark, every place can be a new adventure.
It’s a great way to stay active, discover new places, and simply enjoy the ride!

Malaysia’s First Ice Skating Rink - Asia Jaya Shopping Complex ⛸️❄️
A throwback to the 1970s, when Asia Jaya Shopping Complex was home to what is remembered as Malaysia’s first ice-skating rink, located on the 3rd floor. Opening hours were 9AM to midnight, with skating at $2.50 per hour and skate rental at $1.00 per pair per hour. ❤️

ANOTHER ICE SKATING RINK IS COMING TO MALAYSIA! 🇲🇾⛸️🔥
Exciting news for Ipoh! Sunway Ipoh Mall is expected to be completed in 2027, bringing a whole new shopping, food and entertainment experience to the city. 🛍️✨
And here’s the exciting part for skating fans! Perak’s first ice skating rink will be part of the mall, along with a 36-lane bowling centre, Gourmet Garden, cinema, over 100 F&B options, and plenty more. 🍜🎬🎳
Located between Lost World of Tambun and The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat, it could become a fantastic destination to shop, eat, relax and have fun all in one place. 🌴
Once completed in 2027, Sunway Ipoh Mall is set to become the largest shopping mall in Perak with an Ice Skating Rink ❄️⛸️
