It is with deep sadness that the Paralympic Council Malaysia (PCM) has learned of the passing of Mr Geoffrey Allan Kronenburg, a valued member of the PCM Marketing & Communication Standing Committee.

Geoffrey's unwavering dedication, commitment and invaluable contributions to the Paralympic Movement will always be remembered and deeply appreciated by the PCM family. His passion and service have left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire us.

On behalf of the President, Executive Committee and the entire Paralympic Council Malaysia family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.

Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Khas Teknikal Bil. 3/2026 Para SUKMA XXI Selangor 2026

Majlis Paralimpik Malaysia (MPM) hari ini menghadiri Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Khas Teknikal Bil. 3/2026 Para SUKMA XXI Selangor 2026 yang berlangsung di Shah Alam, Selangor.

Mesyuarat ini menjadi platform penting bagi membincangkan perkembangan terkini persiapan penganjuran Para SUKMA XXI Selangor 2026, termasuk pengesahan acara berdasarkan pendaftaran shortlist, laporan kesiapsiagaan tuan rumah serta perkara-perkara teknikal bagi memastikan kelancaran temasya.

MPM kekal komited untuk bekerjasama rapat dengan Majlis Sukan Negara, Jawatankuasa Pengelola dan semua pihak berkepentingan dalam memastikan penganjuran Para SUKMA XXI Selangor 2026 berlangsung dengan jayanya demi pembangunan sukan Para di Malaysia.

EmpowerHER Through Sport ASEAN Regional Workshop

Building stronger partnerships. Strengthening regional expertise. Creating greater opportunities for athletes with intellectual impairment.

The Paralympic Council Malaysia (PCM), in collaboration with Sport Inclusion Australia (SIA) and Virtus – International Federation for Athletes with an Intellectual Impairment, successfully organised the EmpowerHER Through Sport ASEAN Regional Workshop at the Paralympic Sports Centre of Excellence, Kuala Lumpur.

The workshop brought together representatives from seven ASEAN countries, alongside experts from Virtus and Sport Inclusion Australia, to exchange knowledge, strengthen technical capacity and advance the development of intellectual impairment sport across the region.

Led by Virtus President Ms Robyn Smith, the workshop highlighted Malaysia's growing role within the Paralympic Movement and the opportunity to become the ASEAN Regional Hub for Virtus Intellectual Impairment Sport—supporting athlete development, classification, education and regional capacity building.

With 19 Malaysian participants comprising psychologists, classifiers, sports managers and representatives from sports organisations and government agencies, the workshop reflects PCM's commitment to strengthening expertise and building a more inclusive Para sport ecosystem.

As Malaysia prepares to host the 14th ASEAN Para Games Kuala Lumpur 2027, PCM remains committed to creating a lasting legacy through stronger regional collaboration and greater opportunities for athletes with intellectual impairment.

Together, we are shaping a more inclusive future for Para sport across ASEAN.

Disability Leadership Development: Universiti Putra Malaysia Sets New Milestone

Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) recently organised a Leadership Empowerment Workshop in Port Dickson on 29 July 2026 for students with disabilities, marking a significant step towards developing future leaders and promoting inclusion in higher education.

As part of the programme, First Admiral Dato' Subramaniam, the Secretary-General of Paralympic Council Malaysia (PCM) delivered a special lecture on the Paralympic Movement, introducing participants to its history, values, governance, and its role in empowering persons with disabilities through sport. The session also highlighted the importance of leadership, equal opportunities, and the contribution of the Paralympic Movement towards building a more inclusive society.

This is believed to be the first time a Malaysian university has incorporated a dedicated lecture on the Paralympic Movement into a leadership programme for students with disabilities, making it a commendable and pioneering initiative.

PCM applauds UPM for its vision and commitment to empowering students with disabilities beyond the classroom. It is hoped that this initiative will serve as a model for other universities and higher learning institutions across Malaysia.

Creating greater awareness and understanding of the Paralympic Movement among students with disabilities will inspire future leaders, encourage greater participation in Para sport, and cultivate advocates for inclusion who can contribute meaningfully to their communities and the nation.

The Paralympic Council Malaysia (PCM) extends our sincere appreciation to the Interact Club of Taylor’s International School Kuala Lumpur (TISKL) for their generous contribution of RM5,000 in support of Malaysian Para sport.

The contribution, raised through student-led fundraising initiatives, was presented to PCM Deputy President, Mr. KM Rajendran, during the school’s weekly assembly.

We are truly grateful to the students, teachers and the entire TISKL community for choosing to support our Para athletes and for demonstrating how young people can make a meaningful difference through compassion and collective action.

2nd Asian Paralympic Committee Women in Sports Seminar 2026

The Paralympic Council Malaysia was represented at the 2nd Asian Paralympic Committee Women in Sports Seminar 2026 held in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei, from 18–21 July 2026.

The seminar brought together leaders and representatives from National Paralympic Committees across Asia and beyond to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and discuss the importance of women’s leadership, inclusive governance, and the creation of equal opportunities within the Paralympic Movement.

Through meaningful conversations and global connections, the seminar highlighted the vital role of collaboration in empowering women with disabilities and developing future women leaders in para sport.
