sharing some more basics from silat; explaining the same principles being used whether it's empty hands or flexible weapon (in this case, a gi-belt).
some translation for the mentioned words at those reference points:
Gelang = bangle, the type you wear on your wrist (gelang tangan)
Lipat = fold (as in folding your clothes)

I am still learning - hope its helpful and serve as a 'lightbulb moment' for some. Look for the similar underlying principles that exists in all the techniques or movements. The finishing end product may differ but the principles remain the same.
