Over the last week we have worked with Apeks to resolve the recent Apeks XL4, XL4+ and Ocea 2nd Stages recall.
We are pleased to inform all of you that every unit of Apeks XL4+ and XL4 Ocea in Planet Scuba has been inspected and the necessary steps has been taken.
As of now the unit recall for our inventory has been resolved. They are as good as new!

We would like to thank all of you again for your understanding and cooperation. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience it may have caused.

Dear Planet Scuba customers.
Please note a voluntary safety recall for some Apeks XL4, XL4+ and Ocea 2nd stages is in progress by Apeks.
Some of the Apeks XL4 OCEA and Apeks XL4+ regulators purchased from us:
- which are manufactured between April 2025 and April 2026
- which falls within serial numbers 250402212 to 260402893
are potentially affected.

Why the voluntary recall?
A manufacturing defect in the second-stage spindle assembly can restrict the flow of breathing gas at depths exceeding 45 meters. The regulator may not deliver sufficient breathing gas when required, posing a risk of inadequate air supply to the diver at depth.

What to do:
Stop using the regulator immediately if it falls within the affected serial number range. Please return the regulator to the authorized Planet Scuba’s dealer from whom it was purchased; or return to us at Planet Scuba.

Apeks tracks all regulators purchased from Planet Scuba and our Authorized Dealers. We have the serial numbers of the units affected and we will ensure you will be covered by Apeks in this voluntary recall.
We will be contacting our customers who are affected. If you are unsure whether your regulator is affected, please contact your local Planet Scuba dealer or contact us at [email protected]

What would we do?
Planet Scuba will inspect and, if necessary, repair using approved Apeks replacement components by our qualified technicians, free of charge.

Know the Rules and When to Break them!

A basic rule in underwater photography is to shoot upwards towards the surface. It’s important to know when to stick to that rule and when to break it.

This is especially true for wrecks like this plane in the Red Sea. It can create an interesting, new perspective of a subject by the way of the camera angle positioned slightly down towards the subject.

Easily Capture Clownfish with your SportDiver Housing

Clownfish are lovely to see and are an ideal subject to capture in underwater photography. Although many clownfish are shy, you can find them on an anemone along with other curious creatures. Try to stay with them as long as you can. Watch their movements and patterns to take a picture from a good position with their eyes facing you.
