Following our training session with Daria Shlapak, our SRGC girls and families came together for a special talk hosted by Pickle Grove Malaysia and moderated by Farah Zellinah Kemal, former Malaysian national rhythmic gymnast.
It was a beautiful afternoon of sharing, reflection, and connection. Daria spoke to the girls about the mindset behind sport — the focus, perseverance, humility, and openness to learning at every stage of their journey.
A heartfelt thank-you to Daria for sharing her experience, insight, and encouragement with our girls. Her visit gave them something meaningful to carry forward in their training.
We are also deeply grateful to Farah, who continues to be such a warm and encouraging presence for our girls. Her guidance, support, and generosity mean so much to the SRGC family.
Moments like these are a beautiful reminder that sport brings people together through shared passion, respect, and inspiration.

It was a pleasure to welcome Daria Shlapak, a former member of the Ukrainian Rhythmic Gymnastics Team, to our SRGC training session and have her spend time with our girls.
For our gymnasts, it was a special opportunity to receive guidance and encouragement from someone who understands first-hand the discipline, precision, and dedication that rhythmic gymnastics requires.

As competition season begins, we recently held an online session for families of our young gymnasts at SRGC, co-facilitated by Alasdair Roy, a Child Rights Specialist and Consultant Psychologist.
As coaches, we often focus on the athlete in training. But the environment around a child matters just as much — the messages they hear, the expectations they feel, and the support they receive when sport becomes challenging.
Our session explored the difference between healthy and unhealthy stress, the importance of aligning expectations between parents, athletes, and coaches, and how we can better support children through the natural highs and lows of training and competition.
Competition will always bring moments of pressure. There will be goals to work towards, routines to refine, and lessons to learn along the way. But for children to stay in sport, grow in confidence, and develop a healthy relationship with performance, they also need joy, safety, trust, and balance.
A heartfelt thank you to the parents who joined us with open minds and thoughtful reflections. These conversations are an important part of strengthening the support system around our young athletes.
We look forward to rolling out more parent and athlete education modules in the coming months, and continuing to build a more positive sporting culture for our young gymnasts and the wider sporting community.
