Applications are now open for the 3rd East Africa Regional Capacity Building Training Workshop (EARW) on Strengthening Science Diplomacy for Sustainable Development, a five-day programme designed to strengthen the capacity of researchers, policymakers, and science professionals to bridge science, policy, and international cooperation.

Building on the East Africa Regional Workshop (EARW) Series established in 2024, this programme will equip participants with practical skills in science diplomacy, science communication, policy engagement, negotiation, and international collaboration.
The workshop welcomes researchers, academics, policymakers, science advisors, research managers, and professionals working on sustainable development challenges.

ISTIC is delighted to participate in the 2026 Global Conference on the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development, taking place from 15 to 17 July 2026 at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris ๐ซ๐ท
As part of the thematic session "Fostering South-South Scientific Collaborations within the Science Decade," ISTIC Director Sharizad Dahlan was invited to speak on the role of South-South scientific partnerships in advancing the objectives of the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development. ๐
During her presentation, she highlighted the AFRASIA Project as an example of how South-South collaboration can contribute not only to scientific participation, but also to agenda-setting, more equitable funding, shared scientific infrastructure, and stronger policy engagement within the framework. ๐ค๐ฑ
