SUKMA 2026 swimming signed off with meet records falling right to the final touch.

The final night produced 6 Meet Records across eight finals. Kelly Teo Yao opened the session by taking the women’s 1500m freestyle title in 17:55.82, setting a new MR for Sarawak.

Chong Xin Lin then came within 0.08s of her own national record, winning the 100m backstroke in 1:03.70 while lowering her own SUKMA mark.

Tong Yu Jing also rewrote his own 50m freestyle MR, dropping it from 23.06 to 22.83.

Eliza Tan erased an 18 yr old Meet Record in the 50m freestyle with 26.44, then returned as Selangor’s anchor in the 4x100m medley relay as they clocked another MR of 4:18.87.

Muhammad Dhuha added the 800m freestyle title in 8:18.63, before joining Wilayah Persekutuan for one last race: a 3:47.90 Meet Record to win the men’s 4x100m medley relay and close the programme.

Selangor stood well clear at the top: 20 gold, 7 silver and 11 bronze for 38 medals, ahead of Wilayah Persekutuan with 13 golds and Pulau Pinang with five.

And... that’s a wrap on swimming at SUKMA 2026.

Sarawak on top again in the Mixed Platform Synchro.

Sarawak sealed the gold with a strong final dive, scoring 60.45 points — their best of the competition.

Selangor’s Ayu Syuhaida Khairul delivered a composed five-dive performance to claim the Women’s 3m Springboard gold with 237.20 points.

After sitting third following her opening dive, Ayu moved into the lead in Round 2 and never gave it back. Her middle rounds proved decisive, scoring 48.60, 50.40 and 51.80 before closing with 43.20, five steady dives with no major drop-off.

Lee Yiat Qing tried to fight her way back into contention after a difficult start. She climbed from seventh after Round 1 to second after Round 3, before dropping to fourth. But she saved her best for last, a huge 58.50, the highest-scoring dive of her programme, lifted her onto the podium with 216.10.

Sarawak’s Dayang Nurs Awang Nasaruddin took silver with 223.20, finishing strongly with a 54.00 final dive.

Yip,Yip,Hooray!

The wait is finally over. Eight years after Malacca last celebrated a swimming gold at SUKMA, 14 year old Jodie Yip put the state back on top of podium.

A 2:37.59 finish in the Women's 200m Breaststroke, top the podium and a young name that given Malacca plenty to cheer about.

Day 5 and the final day of Aquatics with one last packed programme across swimming and diving.

The morning begins with the swimming heats, from the distance freestyles battles to the 50m sprints and medley relays.

Over at the diving pool, the Women's 3m Springboard and Mixed Platform Synchro will bring diving competition to its conclusion.

Selangor had another big night in the pool, but not every gold came comfortably.

Shannon Tan and Yuet Ting Aw renewed their battle in the 100m butterfly, separated by just 0.59s at the wall with Shannon taking it in 1:02.39 ahead of Yuet Ting’s 1:02.98, with Nadia Lim third in 1:03.36.

The men’s 100m butterfly was even tighter. Goh Li Hen claimed gold in 55.86, with Muhammad Dhuha just 0.10s behind in 55.96 and Matthias Liew another 0.03s back in 55.99.

Dhuha had already done his winning earlier, taking the 400m freestyle in 4:00.52, while Chong Yuan Yi delivered another Selangor gold in the women’s 400m freestyle with 4:29.70.

Breaststroke brought two different names to the top: 14-year-old Jodie Yip won the women’s 200m in 2:37.59, while Cham Yu Xiang took the men’s title in 2:18.29.

Selangor quartet of Yoong Jia Jia, Chong Yuan Yi, Shannon Tan and Eliza Tan combined for 8:36.12 in the women’s 4x200m freestyle relay, wiping out the 14-year-old SUKMA meet record of 8:40.95 set by Sarawak in 2012.

After four days, Selangor sit on 17 golds and 31 medals, with Wilayah Persekutuan next on 10 golds. Pulau Pinang, meanwhile, have collected 22 medals, including 13 silvers.

It came down to the final dive in the Men's Platform final as Sarawak teammates Elvis Priestly and Jared Aiden battled it out for gold.

Jared went into the last round 4.70pts ahead leading 321.00 to Elvis 316.30. But Elvis saved his best for last, nailing last dive for a massive 81.00 points to finish on 397.30.

Muhammad Anilrian claimed the bronze for Sabah with 340.65 points.

GOLD FOR SARAWAK.

Dayang Nursharzyra and Nur Eilisha Rania combined for 221.01 to take SUKMA gold edging Wilayah Persekutuan of Lee Yiat Qing and Teng Hui Xue by just 3.45 pts.

Selangor's duo, Uzlifatil Jannah and Ayu Syuhaida complete the podium for bronze.
