The Longkang Leap

From the beginning of this year, we have been encouraging our members to run daily, except Sundays. The structure is simple, weekdays 5km, Saturdays 10km. Fast or slow, it does not matter. What we are after is consistency. Because we believe you don't have to be good in order to start. You just need to start in order to get good at it.

Simple as that. And yes, I am the one who said all of the above. So I had better show up and mean it, right?

The weather was unusually gloomy and cool, which already set the tone of this run beautifully. We wove across the historic Klang royal city, through kampung village roads that most people would drive past without a second thought. At one point, we were literally tiptoeing behind people's houses. At another, we leaped across a longkang, and I mean a big longkang. We explored the abandoned colonial quarters of the TNB vicinity, those grand old buildings standing quietly like forgotten chapters of Klang's story. And just when you thought it could not get more surreal, a KTM train rumbled past, and we waved back at it as it honked back at us like an old friend acknowledging our presence.

This is just the route that words alone genuinely cannot do justice to. You have got to be here to feel what I just described.

So come lah. Run with us. Whether you are a seasoned runner or someone who has been sitting on the fence about starting, KPAC has a pace and a place for you.

Tanjung Sepat Run 2026

This morning, 40 KPAC members made their way to the peaceful coastal town of Tanjung Sepat to take part in the Tanjung Sepat Run 2026, held at Persatuan Buddhist Liulishan. Organized by XS Elite Performance, the event was more than just a running event. Every entry fee went towards supporting single-parent families and orphanages in the community. Running with purpose has never felt more fitting.

KPAC was warmly invited by Loke, one of the key person behind the event, and we showed up in force. Forty members pinned on their bibs and took on the 5km and 10km course that weave through the scenic coastal landscape of Tanjung Sepat.

The field was loaded with elite runners and clubs from across the region, making every placing a hard-fought result. Against that competition, KPAC walked away with three top 10 finishes. Eugene Chan came in 8th and Soh Soon Hup 10th in the 10km Men's Veteran category, while Ng Li Li claimed 9th in the Women's Senior Veteran category. Strong runs, all three of them.

To every KPAC member who toed the line this morning, thank you for representing. See you at the next one.
