Justification for the Super Squash Rising Stars National Championship 2026

The Super Squash Rising Stars National Championship 2026 is introduced to address the gap left by the discontinuation of the CIMB Rising Stars National Junior Circuit (RSNJC), which previously served as an important competitive platform for junior squash development in Malaysia.

This championship aims to:

1. Provide Competitive Opportunities

- Create a dedicated competition platform for new, developing, and lower-ranked players who have limited opportunities to compete and gain valuable match experience.

2. Support Grassroots Player Development Programmes

- Encourage participation among emerging junior players by providing them with a structured pathway to develop their technical, tactical, and competitive skills.

3. Benchmark State Development Programmes

- Enable state associations to evaluate the effectiveness of their grassroots development programmes through the performance and progression of their players.
- The championship results will serve as a measurable indicator of each state's player development efforts and identify areas for improvement.

4. Establish a Sustainable Development Pathway

*The long-term plan* is to organise the championship twice annually, allowing regular assessment of player progress and the effectiveness of grassroots development initiatives.
- Holding two editions each year will provide consistent performance data, helping state associations refine their development strategies and accelerate the growth of junior squash talent nationwide.

Through this initiative, the Super Squash Rising Stars National Championship aims to strengthen Malaysia's junior squash ecosystem by creating more competitive opportunities, improving talent identification, and supporting continuous grassroots development across all states in Malaysia.

Age Cut-Off Date: 1 January 2026
Players Requirements
Top 16 players in SRAM National Ranking NOT allowed to participate in the U11, U13,
U15 and U17 categories.
Top 8 players in SRAM National Ranking NOT allowed to participate in the U9 categories.
Foreign players are NOT allowed to participate.

Some people are quick to criticize and offer suggestions, but don't want to take action. Some feel disappointed when things do not go according to their wishes. Others ask what the Association can do for them, without first considering what they can contribute in return.

Nevertheless, we will continue moving forward with the same commitment and purpose.
