This crocodile didn’t swim here. It walked, before the water came back and sealed all of this.
Can you imagine how long ago that was?

Great to have Logan back with us in Mexico for another week of cave diving!

Over 5 days, we completed 15 cave dives across a variety of sites and environments, with the goal of maximizing exposure to different conditions, cave formations, navigation challenges, and dive profiles.

Rather than simply accumulating dives, the focus was on building experience through variety — adapting to different caves, refining skills, improving efficiency, and becoming more comfortable and confident in changing environments.

A busy five days, plenty of time underground, and some great diving along the way.

Always a pleasure having you back, Logan. See you on the next one!

A full week of cave diving with Logan. Different caves and moments like this one to take home. Come back soon, amigo.

Any guesses which cenote this is? 👇

What if learning to dive looked more like actual diving?

Many traditional entry-level skills are taught as isolated exercises: stop, kneel down, perform the skill, get the check mark, move on.

But that’s not how we actually dive.

Real diving happens neutrally buoyant, in the water column and often in motion. We need to control our depth and position while communicating, managing equipment, solving problems and staying aware of our surroundings and our team.

That’s why we believe buoyancy, trim and propulsion shouldn’t be something you work on *after* becoming a diver. They should be the platform on which everything else is built.

Skills become much more meaningful when you can perform them while maintaining control.

This doesn’t mean making recreational diving more complicated. Quite the opposite. It means building simple, useful habits from the beginning — before less effective habits become difficult to change.

Learn to control yourself first.
Then build the skills on top of it.

Train the way you actually dive.

Meet Martín. He wanted to be an explorer, an astronaut or a diver. He blames Jules Verne.

He grew up in a small town in central Argentina with those books following him everywhere. At nineteen he left engineering and architecture to work in industrial and automotive supplies. Years later he came to Playa del Carmen as a tourist, to dive, and fell hopelessly for the caves. The trips got more frequent until GoDiveMEX existed.

He is a co-owner here. But what people take home with them are the evenings on the terrace, and whatever he has on the fire.

"I spent a lot of time outdoors as a kid and learned to cook over fire. Sitting around a fire with food goes across cultures and across time. It takes you back to something simple."

He is the one who greets people when they arrive and sees them off when they leave.

"I know how it feels to walk into a place that takes itself seriously and is still friendly with you. That is what I always wanted to find, and it isn't easy to find. And with students I haven't forgotten where I started — the mix of satisfaction, nerves, and sometimes frustration when things don't go right."

There is one idea about training he keeps coming back to. A skill you don't use is a skill you lose. He likes that the idea is older than he is — Lamarck said much the same two hundred years ago — and that it turns out to be literally true. The brain quietly lets go of whatever you stop practising.

The dive he would do again is the first cave dive he ever did. Minotauro Upstream.

"That dive marked my future. In time it brought me to Mexico and to starting GoDiveMEX."

Teaching cave diving is not just about skills, it’s about mindset, discipline, and passion.
Working with has been exactly that.
We never get tired of saying how fortunate we are to meet divers who truly care about the process. Adri showed commitment, focus, and a genuine drive to improve from day one.
Watching that progression and seeing him maintain such a high level throughout the entire course, has been a real pleasure.
Big thanks as well to and for being part of the process, supporting, collaborating, and helping build a strong team environment throughout.

Thank you, Adri. Proud of the work you’ve put in! 💥💯
