Something shifted to me a few weeksâŠ.
I have spent the last several months working hard, working late, spending a lot of time at my computer, thinking, planning, researching and worrying
And to be honest, the shift happened on the week I had vacation with my mom and little Miss B where I made the conscious effort to do no work during the day or the evening and be off my phone
And to see how little Miss responded to me being so present and joyful and less stressful and not worrying, really made me take a seat back and think about the life that I was building
It literally stopped me in my tracks, and I closed up everything. I had just built and decided that I was going to rest and focus on joy, and you know that little nudge of worry that can nitpick at your heart and your nervesâŠ.. itâs gone
Itâs OK to pivot, itâs OK to change your mind on what you actually really want in life and then do something about it
I stopped worrying and working and just started being and Iâm pretty sure I have the taste of honey on my lips.
I had to hop on this trend âŠ.
She is honestly pure joyâŠ..
When I envisioned having my own little girl, she is more than I couldâve ever dreamed, or hoped for.
She gave me the strength to keep pushing through the difficult seasons, but sheâs also brought me so much joy and taught me how to actually rest, be present. I was the catalyst for me to pursue joy in life.
I received a few few messages yesterday that this girl needs her own show and wellâŠ. I think at the very least sheâs gonna have to join me on a couple podcast episodes.
Stay tuned for part two of this video because she took the phone into another room and recorded a little mini sermon for her first podcast lol
When someone asks how I balance it all đ
Real answer: I donât. Not anymore.
These last few weeks, sheesh months âŠ.have been a lot. Weeks of packing, sourcing furniture, prepping for a move.
Building out things, and quietly closing doors on things I built that nobody even knew were closing.
And in between all of it, a vacation with Brooke-Lynn and my mom where I wasnât working, just present.
That trip cracked something open in me.
I realized how much joy Iâve actually been craving.
Then came days of unpacking, setting up the new place, making it feel like home. And now, on the other side of all that motion, my back went out as I brought in the final piece of furniture. My body just said sit down girl just as my mom had Brooke-Lynn for an entire week.
Whatâs a mom to do without her side kick and little bestie ⊠rest!
Honestly? Iâm enjoying the rest. Sleeping in. Took my first lunch walk today instead of rushing through one. This week Iâm choosing friends, rest, slowness, on purpose and laying in bed watching tv.Â
Iâve made some hard decisions lately because of all this reflecting. Iâll share more when Iâm ready.
I donât want to be the girl who rests then grinds then rests then grinds and gets applauded for the cycle. I believe in hard work. But I donât think thatâs what I was made for.
I think I was made for the soft life. Still figuring out what that even means for me.
Still becoming
Sheâs so strongâ đ hereâs what that actually looked like this week.
One screw into a handle and my back said weâre done. Spent yesterday afternoon in bed, didnât get up until almost noon today.
And honestly? Felt like a sign.
Iâm done being âthe strong one.â
Iâm ready for the soft life. The rest. The slow mornings. The joy coming back.
Rest is not a reward. Itâs a practice. Catch me resting this week after weeks of packing, moving, unpacking and setting up our new home
