Shark awareness day part 2!

Bull Shark edition:

These sweet ladies visit us every winter. They come here when they are heavily pregnant to give birth in the mangroves.
You read that right - these sharks are able to survive in both salt and freshwater!
Another fact is they have one of the strongest bites of any shark but contrary to popular belief they were named after their build and NOT their attitude.

I can’t WAIT until they come back so we can dive with them again 😍

Nurse shark edition-
During the day, it’s common to find nurse sharks napping under ledges or in caves. Theyre primarily nocturnal which is why we usually find them having a mid day siesta.
Theyre also special when it comes to not having to swim constantly to be able to breathe. They can pump water over their gills while they rest. The perfect combination!

We said *unhinged* okay .. so keyboard warriors be warned 👀

Those little green “flowers” in the sand have the perfect oils to leave a residue that the fog does not stick to 😱.
Mask off, give it a lil scrub and it’s good as new.

Obviously you need to be conscious of the flora and fauna underwater so it’s used as a last resort when that mask just doesn’t want to be a good guy.

The best practise before your cave training 😉

Why does he wrap the reel 3 times? To recognize that this was the first point. In case you have a moment of no visibility you can realize that this was your starting point and you’re outside.

Reeling is like an art. There’s no specific place you need to anchor but it has to be stable. Where would you have put your first?

When I tell you that this skill was *almost* my breaking point in my own open water course.. I might be exaggerating a little 😉

But I’ve never loved it and the one thing that always seems to help is the reminder to take it slow and breathe.

The quick personal pep talk before the skill honestly works magic. Dont doubt yourself!

We saw not one, but TWO mating pairs on this dive… we’ve got some freaky turtles on this reef 🙈

First of all… the answer is “all of them” and I agree.
