In the episode, Justin Foster bluntly asks Rick what he would do as a restaurant owner with ICE coming for his cooks. He would hide them and house them in his own home if it came to that. Undocumented workers are the lifeblood of any good kitchen, he says, and eighty-three percent of the people ICE targets have zero criminal offenses. His oath bound him to people first, to a Constitution designed to protect human rights, not institutions.

No elected official shares your history or your experience, so representation is a convenience for running a government, never a stand-in for your own voice. Justin opined that no one is coming to save democracy. No Superman, no single savior. A democracy under attack survives only when the body politic defends it. He closed on the discipline underneath all of it: think for yourself, because the moment you stop, someone else does it for you.
