On our last trip to Cabo Pulmo we encountered a whale that looked happy to see us! Cabo Pulmo is a protected park, which makes it rich in marine life and coral reef health. We even saw a turtle sleeping in the bottom 🥹🐋🐢

Dolphins in Cabo!
These magnificent creatures often travel with the whales during it's mating season, their characteristic sound and playfulness is something to be amazed of! They are the second most intelligent animal on earth!

Beauty in each Tail
On our last tour of 2023 we spotted several whales navigating together! Humpback whales tend to be alone for most of the year, it's on this season that they come together for swimming, singing and competing between males all across cabo!

The tail of a humpback whale is unique, literally!

Their pattern of markings is unique to each individual. The markings on a humpback's tail are formed by a combination of factors like skin pigmentation, scarring, and parasites. These patterns are so unique that they're used to identify individual whales, similar to fingerprints in humans.
Also their shape is unlike any other baleen whale. Humpback tails have a fluked shape, with two long, narrow lobes. This shape allows them to generate tremendous power when propelling themselves out of the water.
