JOB WELL DONE, COBBE BARRACKS ATHLETICS CLUB! πŸ†πŸ”₯
What we witnessed at the Malawi Defence Force 10 Kilometers Cross Country Marathon was nothing short of pure grit, discipline, and unbreakable military spirit. Cobbe Barracks Athletics Club once again proved that hard work, consistency, and teamwork always pay off.
Against tough competition and a demanding course at Zomba Golf Course, Cobbe Barracks athletes ran with heart, courage, and determination. The Men’s Cross Country Team fought fiercely to secure Position 2, while the Women’s Cross Country Team dominated the race to claim Position 1 β€” an achievement that speaks volumes about their preparation, endurance, and winning mentality. This was not easy, but Cobbe made it look possible through relentless effort and unity.
Individually, Cobbe Barracks Athletics Team member Kephas Kasten delivered a masterclass performance, successfully defending his title in the men’s 10km race with an impressive time of 33 minutes and 39 seconds. On the women’s side, Asimenye Simwaka of Lilongwe Admin Athletics Team defended her crown in 43 minutes and 59 seconds, showcasing elite-level stamina and focus.
In the team marathon category, 1 Malawi Rifles lifted the women’s team title, while 3 Malawi Rifles claimed the men’s team crown β€” further highlighting the depth of talent and competitiveness within the MDF athletics family.
MDF Deputy Chief of Defence, Lieutenant General Kondwani Gift Kalino, expressed satisfaction with the progress made, emphasizing that such competitions strengthen unity, physical fitness, discipline, and teamwork across all units.
Cobbe Barracks Athletics Club didn’t just run β€” they represented excellence, resilience, and the true fighting spirit of the force. The sweat, the sacrifices, the early mornings, and the endless training sessions have spoken loudly. This is military athletics at its finest.
Cobbe Barracks β€” built by hard work, driven by unity, and powered by champions! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ”₯
