The Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) is a nonprofit Olympic Sport Organization established in 1985.

Commonwealth Games Association Maldives conducted an Information Session for Team Maldives ahead of the Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2026, providing athletes and officials with key information on travel, accommodation, competition operations, Games services, team protocols and other essential preparations.

The session was led by Chef de Mission Fazna Jaleel and CGA Maldives Secretary General Thamooh Ahmed Saeed, and attended by athletes, coaches and officials representing Athletics and Swimming as Team Maldives continues its preparations for the Games.

The Maldives Olympic Committee continues its preparations for the 2026 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games as the official Chef de Mission Meeting takes place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Representing Team Maldives at the meeting our Chef de Mission for the games Mohamed Latheef and Ibrahim Shifaz from the Maldives Olympic Committee, joining delegates from across Asia to discuss key operational and logistical preparations ahead of the Games.

The Maldives Olympic Committee conducted a Safeguarding Awareness Seminar yesterday at the Social Centre Haruge as part of its ongoing commitment to promoting safe and supportive sporting environments.

Separate sessions were held for NSA management, coaches, technical officials, administrators, athletes, and parents/guardians, with each group participating in tailored discussions relevant to their roles and responsibilities in safeguarding athletes.

MOC met with UNICEF Maldives and ARC to discuss the nationwide implementation of the MOC Child Safeguarding Policy. Discussions focused on strengthening partnerships to support the policy’s implementation across the Maldives through coordinated stakeholder engagement, capacity building and the establishment of practical safeguarding measures throughout the sporting community.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Edward Addai, UNICEF Representative to the Maldives; MOC Secretary General Thamooh Ahmed Saeed; Zenysha Zaki, Founder, ARC; and Aminath Iyan Adil, Programme Manager, ARC.

Olympic Day 2026 celebrations continued in GDh. Vaadhoo with a two-day programme held on 26 and 27 June 2026, bringing the community together under this year's global campaign, "Let's Move, You Can Do This." The celebration featured a community fun run and a vibrant sports festival, offering participants of all ages the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of sporting and recreational activities while embracing the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect.
