🐠 Meet the Harlequin Filefish (Oxymonacanthus longirostris).
One of the reef's most specialized fish, perfectly adapted to live among branching corals.
➡️ But what makes them so special?

💙🧡 Harlequin Filefish feed almost exclusively on the polyps of healthy Acropora corals.
Because these corals are highly sensitive to environmental stress, the fish can only thrive where the reef is in good condition.
Finding five individuals sharing a single coral colony is a wonderful sign of a healthy ecosystem. 🌱
Sometimes, the best proof of a thriving reef isn't a shark or a manta ray...
✨ It's five tiny fish living exactly where they belong
