L'ensemble du personnel technique a été félicité pour le travail accompli tout au long des finales de Kabaddi des Jeux nationaux des sports de combat 2026, organisés par le Ministry of Youth & Sports - Mauritius au Cote d'Or National Sports Complex, permettant aux athlètes d'atteindre leur meilleur niveau lors de cette compétition majeure.

Un travail important auprès des jeunes La Fédération mauricienne de kabaddi mène également un programme de développement complet dans les écoles et à travers le pays. Des séances d'initiation, des démonstrations et des ateliers de découverte sont régulièrement organisés dans les écoles, les collèges et les centres sportifs régionaux afin de sensibiliser les jeunes aux valeurs du kabaddi. Ce programme bénéficie également du précieux soutien de la Fondation nationale pour l'inclusion sociale NSIF , LIC Mauritius , IndianOil (Mauritius) Ltd , OlympiaSports et du ministère de l'Éducation, qui ont facilité l'intégration du kabaddi dans plusieurs écoles de l'île. Grâce à ce partenariat, des séances d'initiation et d'entraînement sont désormais proposées dans les écoles, offrant ainsi aux jeunes Mauriciens la possibilité de découvrir et de pratiquer ce sport dans un cadre structuré et encadré. Ces initiatives permettent aux jeunes Mauriciens de découvrir un sport qui développe l'endurance, la vitesse, la stratégie, le travail d'équipe et la confiance en soi. Plusieurs jeunes talents issus de ces programmes d'initiation ont rejoint les rangs de la fédération ces dernières années.

Sport spectaculaire alliant attaque, défense, vitesse et intelligence tactique, le kabaddi continue de gagner en popularité à Maurice et d'acquérir une reconnaissance internationale. Présent dans de nombreux pays et en constante expansion, ce sport offre désormais aux athlètes mauriciens de nouvelles opportunités de participer à des compétitions régionales, continentales et mondiales. La finale des Jeux nationaux des sports de combat de 2026 a une fois de plus démontré le potentiel considérable du kabaddi mauricien, ainsi que l'engagement des clubs, des entraîneurs, des officiels et des bénévoles qui œuvrent sans relâche au développement de cette discipline. Toute la communauté mauricienne du kabaddi peut se réjouir de l'évolution remarquable de ce sport, qui ne cesse de gagner en popularité et de former la prochaine génération d'athlètes à travers l'île Maurice.

Les équipes de LIC Mauritius ont été sacrées championnes de la catégorie féminine lors des finales de kabaddi des Jeux nationaux des sports de combat 2026, organisés par le Ministry of Youth & Sports - Mauritius au Cote d'Or National Sports Complex.

Dans une ambiance exceptionnelle et devant un public de passionnés de sports de combat, les équipes féminines de la Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) ont été sacrées championnes nationales après avoir dominé leurs adversaires d'Indian Oil en finale. Cette double victoire vient couronner une saison remarquable pour les équipes de la LIC, qui ont fait preuve d'une impressionnante maîtrise tactique et d'un remarquable esprit d'équipe tout au long de la compétition.

Du côté féminin, les joueuses de la LIC, menées par leur capitaine Alladeen Shammia, ont livré une prestation exceptionnelle. Faisant preuve d'une grande cohésion collective, elles ont su contrôler les moments clés du match pour s'assurer une victoire méritée face à une équipe d'Indian Oil particulièrement combative.

Performances individuelles décisives Parmi les joueuses clés de ce succès, la raideuse SazSazia Sheik s'est distinguée par son efficacité offensive. Ses raids parfaitement exécutés ont permis à LIC de marquer des points cruciaux à des moments décisifs du match. En défense, Emilie Hope a été un pilier indispensable grâce à ses raids. Ses interventions, notamment plusieurs prises de cheville réalisées avec précision, ont stoppé les attaques adverses et ont fait basculer le cours du match à plusieurs reprises.

Une victoire qui confirme le statut de la LIC
Cette double victoire confirme aujourd'hui le statut de la LIC comme l'une des références du kabaddi mauricien. Les deux équipes ont démontré une profondeur d'effectif, une préparation physique de qualité ainsi qu'une capacité à gérer la pression des grands rendez-vous.
Au-delà du résultat sportif, cette réussite témoigne également des progrès constants réalisés par le kabaddi à Maurice au cours de la dernière décennie.

Mauritian kabaddi experienced a historic moment this weekend at the National Combat Sports Games 2026 finals, organised by Ministry of Youth & Sports - Mauritius and held at the Côte d'Or National Sports Complex. In an exceptional atmosphere and before a large crowd of combat sports enthusiasts, the men's team from the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) were crowned national champions after dominating their counterparts from IndianOil (Mauritius) Ltd in the grand finals. This victory caps off a remarkable season for the LIC team, who demonstrated impressive tactical mastery, exemplary discipline, and outstanding teamwork throughout the competition.

A high-level final In the men's final, the game offered an intense spectacle where every point was fought with determination. Under the leadership of captain Deoraj Hurnarain, the LIC team managed to impose its rhythm from the opening minutes. Thanks to a rigorous defensive organization and excellent game reading, the team gradually gained the upper hand over Indian Oil.

Final score (Men): LIC 40 – 35 Indian Oil

Decisive Individual Performances Among the architects of this success, raider James distinguished himself with his offensive efficiency. Their perfectly executed raids allowed LIC to accumulate crucial points at decisive moments in the game.

On the defensive side, Bassy Rudy Jonathan Rudy Jonathan Bassy was indispensable pillars. His interventions, notably several precisely executed ankle holds, stopped opposing attacks and turned the tide of the game on several occasions. The entire coaching staff was also commended for their work throughout the season, enabling the athletes to reach their peak performance at this major competition.
