🍾 Champagne Moment of the Day & DOTD😬

This week’s Champagne Moment goes to none other than our stand-in skipper, Rassie! 👏🍻

Where do we even start…

✅ Won the toss.
✅ Won the game.
✅ Won at the bar.
✅ Won at the braai.
✅ Won the hearts of the fans.
✅ Won Man of the Match.

Oh… and while he was at it, he finished with the most wickets, stayed not out with the bat, and led the boys to another victory.

An all-round captain’s performance from start to finish. When the team needed a leader, Rassie stepped up and delivered in every department.

🤦‍♂️ Dick of the Day 🤦‍♂️

Now onto some truly awful behaviour…

One of the godfathers and founding members of the club, Steve, has somehow managed to set a brand-new club record…

Turning up halfway through the second innings. 😂

His excuse?

“It was the curry…”

We all know it wasn’t the curry, Steve… it was the beers. 🍺😂

To make matters even better, he strolls in and says:

“I told you guys you wouldn’t need me.”

Outstanding confidence for someone who’d missed over half the game.

For setting a new club record for lateness, and somehow still acting like he’d done us a favour by turning up at all…

A thoroughly deserved Dick of the Day goes to Stevie! 👏🍺

Apologies for the lack of a match report last week… I may have given myself a week off. Truth be told, I was also trying to avoid writing about being on the losing side! 😂

This week’s action was our Intra Club Family Day, with the battle to be second in command… Rassie vs McKeown. And what a day it was for Rassie… not so much for Mike! 🤣

Ras won the toss and sent Mike into bat, but it was a very slow start. I mean, Muzza faced 16 balls before scoring his first run! 😂

Pick of the bowlers:
🔥 Captain Rassie – 5 overs, 4 wickets for 25 runs.

Set 166 to win, Rassie gathered the troops and simply said:
“Let’s get this done quickly… I want to get the braai on!” 🍖

And that’s exactly what they did…

Yep… a NINE-wicket win! 🤯

Mike’s team had absolutely no answers and spent the afternoon chasing leather for 24 overs! 😂
