Nestled at the foot of the iconic Le Morne Mountain, Haras du Morne offers unique horse riding experiences for all levels.

✨ Beginners? Enjoy a peaceful beach ride accompanied by our experienced team.

✨ Experienced riders? Depending on your riding level, we may offer trotting, cantering and even horse swimming in the lagoon.

✨ Dreaming of swimming with horses? This experience is available for confident riders and may also be possible for some beginners depending on their comfort level and the conditions on the day.

At Haras du Morne, our horses are our priority. Most of them are former racehorses that we have retrained and given a second chance at life after their racing careers. Every ride is carefully adapted to both the rider and the horse’s well-being.

Whether you’re looking for your very first horse riding experience or a more adventurous ride in one of Mauritius’ most breathtaking locations, we would be delighted to welcome you.

🎯 At Haras du Morne, sometimes a little waiting time is needed… and that’s completely normal.

Our horses are former racehorses, and their well-being always comes first. Sometimes they need a little extra time to rest, eat, receive care or simply enjoy being horses.

So while waiting, why not enjoy a game of pétanque with us? 😊

From Lickerio… to Phoenix 🐎🔥

During a race, he shattered his fetlock. We don’t even know how — but everything could have ended that day.

He arrived at Haras du Morne barely able to walk.

Months later, after care, patience and a lot of love… he can run again.

We’re still taking things slowly — he’s not ready for riders yet — but every step forward is already a victory.

We chose to believe in him.
And today… he’s proving us right. ✨
