The BIWPA Experience Has Begun!

Our U14s have arrived in Barcelona for their first Sliema ASC x BIWPA Academy experience — and what a way to start!

Few days of high-level training, new challenges, official friendlies against local clubs, new experiences and plenty of opportunities to learn and grow both in and out of the pool.

Our Senior Coach, Ferran Pascual, has also spent time with the group, working with the boys and girls and sharing his experience.

This is what the Sliema ASC x BIWPA Academy is all about — opening doors, creating opportunities and giving our young athletes experiences beyond Malta.

The journey has started. 💙🤽‍♂️

The Malta U16 Men’s National Team has concluded its campaign at the World Aquatics Men’s U16 Water Polo Championships 2026 in Zagreb, Croatia, with an impressive 11th-place finish in the world.

A special congratulations to our Sliema BIWPA Academy representatives, Giulio Massa, Matthew Abdilla, Giosue Spiteri, Jake Abela Meli, Hayden Brincat, Sam Camilleri Bowman, and Luca Schiavone, who proudly wore the national colours and played their part in this outstanding achievement for Maltese water polo.

Congratulations also to the entire Malta squad and staff, led by Head Coach Paul Privitera

Well done, boys. You have represented Malta and Sliema with pride, passion, and determination throughout the tournament. The future is bright! 💙🩵

Seven Sliema players have today left to represent Malta at the European Aquatics Men’s U20 Water Polo Championship in Varna, Bulgaria, between 10 and 16 August 2026. Congratulations to Sam Engerer, Philip Tabone, Jayden Cutajar, Julian Chircop, Jayden Cassar, Zack Dzanovic, and Elijah Schembri on their well-deserved selection.

Their call-up reflects not only their commitment, dedication, and hard work, but also the strong player development taking place throughout the Sliema ASC Academy.

As the team departs for Bulgaria, everyone at Sliema ASC would like to wish the entire Malta U20 Men’s National Team and technical staff every success throughout the championship.

A well-deserved reward that reflects the tremendous improvement, commitment and progress shown by this team throughout the season.
