Registration open for third UIAA Mountain Safety Symposium
Young climbers and mountaineers, outdoor practitioners and high-altitude enthusiasts in Nepal and the surrounding regions eager to elevate their skills, safety knowledge, and awareness of the mountains are invited to register for the 3rd International Mountain Safety Symposium, taking place on 27–28 October 2026 in Nepal.
Organised by the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA) alongside the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) this two-day event gathers world-leading medical specialists, safety experts, and legendary Himalayan climbers to empower the next generation of mountain workers and adventurers.
This is the third edition of the ever-evolving UIAA Mountain Safety Symposium following editions in Bariloche (Argentina) in 2024 and in Peja (Kosovo) a year later. The events have been successful in focusing on national and regional topics while introducing an international perspective and network.
This event precedes the UIAA General Assembly to be held in Kathmandu on 30-31 October.

🇲🇹 Malta at Tout à Bloc 2026! 🧗♀️🧗♂️
A team of 13 climbers is representing Malta at this year's Tout à Blocs climbing festival in France — our largest international participation group to date! 🇲🇹
The youth athletes travelling to Tout à Blocs form part of the ClimbMT National Team, representing Malta at one of Europe's best-known climbing festivals on their first trip as a National Team. This also marks the fifth time that a Maltese delegation has travelled to Tout à Blocs, highlighting the continued growth of climbing in Malta and the opportunities being created for our athletes.
This international participation has been made possible through the SportMalta International Participation Scheme, whose support enables our climbers to gain valuable international competition experience.
A big thank you to Louise Giglio, who organised and is accompanying the delegation, and to Sapphire Amari Warnes from Crashpad, who is coaching the team throughout the trip.
We wish all our athletes the very best of luck. Climb hard, enjoy the experience, and make the most of this fantastic opportunity! 💪🇲🇹
