Malta Rugby Football Union representatives met yesterday with Minister for Education and Sport, Hon. Byron Camilleri, to present Malta Rugby’s five-year plan and discuss the opportunities and challenges arising from Malta’s qualification to the Rugby Europe Trophy.

The meeting focused on aligning government support with Malta Rugby’s long-term Vision 2031, including investment in facilities, youth pathways, and high-performance structures needed to compete sustainably at European Trophy level and beyond.

Both parties highlighted the strategic value of Malta’s recent promotion for sport, education, and sports tourism, and agreed to continue working together to ensure that this success translates into stronger domestic structures and more opportunities for Maltese young people to engage in rugby.
