๐ฒ๐นโพ DAY 2 IN ANZIO โ ANOTHER DAY OF GROWTH! ๐ฎ๐น
Day 2 of the Coastal Baseball Tournament brought another two valuable games for the Malta Pat Pace Baseball Academy, as our young athletes continued to gain experience against strong Italian opposition. ๐ชโพ
โพ GAME 1 | MALTA 4 โ LIONS 12
Kole Bartolo Micallef got the start on the mound, with Benjamin Pace and Yazmin Cauchi Vassallo coming in in relief.
After a difficult opening three innings, Malta settled into the game and held the Lions scoreless for the remainder, while Dale Galea made an impact after coming into the game with a triple. ๐
โพ GAME 2 | BKD 8 โ MALTA 3
Amy Summer Elliott started on the mound and Lucia Zhang closed out the game.
At the plate, Max Bianco found his groove with some great hits, while Kole Bartolo and Nicholas Pace executed excellent bunt singles. ๐ฅ
Malta loaded the bases with two outs in the third before Dale Galea sent a deep fly towards the wall โ however BKD made a great catch to end the inning and limit the damage to 1 run.
The scores don't tell the whole story. These kids have the talent. ๐ฒ๐นโค๏ธ What they need is more experience training and competing regularly on a proper baseball facility. With the right environment and more opportunities to play the game, we believe they can continue developing and compete at a much higher level.
Every inning played here is valuable experience. We're incredibly proud of their effort, attitude and determination to keep improving. ๐ช๐ฒ๐น
A huge thank you to those who continue to support the Academy and make opportunities like this possible:

๐ฒ๐นโพ DAY 1 IN ANZIO โ PROUD OF THIS TEAM! โพ๐ฎ๐น
An action-packed first day at the Coastal Baseball Tournament, with our young athletes showing plenty of fight, determination and some great baseball! ๐ช๐ฅ
โพ GAME 1 | BKD 5 โ MALTA 4
A game that went right down to the wire! Matteo Ciappara gave us a strong start on the mound, while Lucia Zhang drove in all four of Maltaโs runs! ๐ฅ
Max Bianco and Benjamin Pace were excellent in the outfield, combining for five outs. Malta fought back to tie the game 4โ4 in the fifth, before BKD eventually brought home the winning run.
โพ GAME 2 | LIONS 12 โ MALTA 7
After falling behind early, this team showed exactly what theyโre made of and never stopped fighting! ๐ฒ๐น๐ช
Amy Elliott delivered a huge two-run triple, while Nathan Buttigieg stole the show on the mound with a fantastic performance. ๐
And what a way to finish...
๐ฅ Matteo Ciappara with an INSIDE-THE-PARK HOME RUN in the sixth! ๐ฅ
Two defeats on the scoreboard, but so much to be proud of. Our athletes competed, supported each other and continued to improve with every inning.
Heads held high. Today we go again! ๐ฒ๐นโพ๐ฅ

โพ๐ฎ๐น FIRST PRACTICE IN ANZIO!
Yesterday, the Malta Pat Pace Baseball Academy took to the field for our first practice session at Campo Reatini as we prepare for this weekendโs Coastal Baseball Tournament. ๐ชโพ
The session focused mainly on batting practice, followed by our pre-game routine, before finishing with pitching and catching work and some fly balls.
It was a good first session to settle in, get comfortable on the field and start preparing for the tournament ahead.
Today, weโll be back on the field for another practice session, continuing our preparations before the tournament gets underway tomorrow! ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐น

The Malta Baseball and Softball Association (MBSA) was honoured to meet with H.E. Somers Farkas, United States Ambassador to the Republic of Malta, at the U.S. Embassy in Malta.
Representing MBSA were President Andrew Bajo and Treasurer Kevin Spiteri, who had the opportunity to discuss the Association's long standing relationship with the Embassy and explore future opportunities for collaboration. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Ambassador Farkas and the U.S. Embassy for their warm hospitality and for the thoughtful gifts presented during our visit.
During the meeting, we reflected on the strong partnership that has developed over the years, including the memorable period when the U.S. Embassy fielded a team that competed in the MBSA league for several seasons. We also discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation in promoting baseball and softball in Malta, with the shared hope of seeing the return of the U.S. Embassy team to our leagues in the near future.
We thank Ambassador Farkas and the entire team at the U.S. Embassy for the warm welcome and look forward to continuing this valued partnership for the benefit and growth of baseball and softball in Malta.
