It’s been a busy start to The Foil Co journey! 🌊

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been proud to introduce new people of all ages and backgrounds to the world of foiling.

We’ve been testing gear, running demo sessions, learning, progressing and getting newcomers up to speed with what foiling is all about.

Even through a calm Maltese summer, we’ve been on the water almost daily thanks to Foil Drive, honing our own skills while giving newcomers valuable water time to take their first steps into the sport.

And now, with the windy season loading up… we’ve got some big plans 👀

This is only the beginning.

This is what it’s all about. 🌊

Sometimes the best sessions aren’t about who went the fastest, jumped the highest or had the newest gear.

They’re about this.

A light breeze, a pile of equipment, a few friends on the water and everyone doing something different.

James had his very first go at wing foiling, taking his first steps into the sport.

Kenneth got to test and swap through some new setups.

And I got to play around with some new gear while helping James get started and hopefully making those first steps into foiling a little easier.

With 12 to 15 knots of breeze, we spent the evening riding, testing, swapping equipment, helping each other out and mostly just having a laugh.

Then came the “boring” part.

Packing everything away.

But somehow even that becomes part of the session when you’re doing it together, talking about what worked, what didn’t and what we want to try next, all while packing up under a magnificent Maltese sunset.

This is exactly the community we want to build at The Foil Co.

From someone trying wing foiling for the first time to riders experimenting with smaller, faster equipment, we can all share the same session.

That’s what it’s all about.

And judging by the footage, apparently even packing up can be fun.

A little update from The Foil Co 👀

Things have been moving quickly behind the scenes.

The demo sessions are underway, we’ve had some amazing people getting on the water, and we’ve been gathering plenty of footage along the way.

This is just a little teaser before we release the full video 🎥

Here’s Nikola Zdravkovski and me getting the gear ready, running through a quick safety briefing and then heading out to see what happens.

And what happened?

Nikola was up and flying in under 15 minutes.

We’ve been seriously impressed with how intuitive and easy going the RRD beginner setup is. But don’t take our word for it. Watch Nikola.

And when we say fast, this big 1850 has been pushed to around 35 km/h. Definitely not for the faint hearted once you start pushing it 😅

Whether you’ve never stood on a foil before or you’re already an experienced rider looking to try something different, we want to find the right setup, adapt the session to you and most importantly, have a blast on the water.

We’ve been super busy with all the demo sessions lately, but behind the scenes it’s been hectic… just the way we like it. 🤙🏻

Between getting more people flying for the first time, testing gear, and preparing what’s next, we’ve still been making sure we’re getting our own water time in too.

One of the coolest things about foiling is that you don’t have to stick to a single brand. Thanks to FoilDrive’s incredible compatibility, you can build a setup using the best parts from different brands to suit your riding style.

And the best part? When the wind doesn’t show up, the fun doesn’t stop. We’ve been spending those calm days chasing tiny bumps, pumping around, and sharpening our skills instead of waiting for the next forecast. 🌊

Meet the new × Foil Drive Integrated Mast.

This isn’t just a dedicated FoilDrive mast. It’s been designed from the ground up to make your setup cleaner, more efficient, and better performing on the water.

Here’s why an integrated mast makes a difference:

• A much smaller integrated pod creates significantly less drag than a universal pod.
• The motor is positioned further back, keeping it out of the turbulent water coming off the mast and front wing for smoother, more efficient performance.
• The motor cable runs inside the mast, so there’s’s no exposed cable and no tape needed to secure it.
• Increased efficiency means less energy wasted, helping you get more runtime from your FoilDrive battery and more time on the water.

One thing we really love about RRD is that they didn’t stop there.

They’ve developed a range of fuselage connections, meaning you don’t have to ride RRD foils to benefit from this system. If your current setup is compatible, there’s a good chance you can enjoy the advantages of the integrated mast while keeping the gear you already know and love.

This shipment comes from our latest brand reveal, RRD (Roberto Ricci Designs), and we’re absolutely stoked to have them on board.

From the moment we started working with RRD, our expectations were already very high. After unpacking and going through the equipment, we can honestly say the quality, attention to detail, and overall finish have impressed us even more than we expected.

After months of planning, travelling, testing equipment, and building relationships with some of the best brands in the industry, seeing this gear arrive and start filling the clubhouse is a pretty special feeling.

But this isn’t just about receiving boxes.

We made this investment because we believe the foiling community in Malta deserves a better experience when choosing equipment.
