Knees caving in when you squat? It's one of the most common things we see — and it's usually a quick fix, not a weakness.

Most of the time it comes down to your feet. Screw them into the floor and think "spread the ground apart" as you stand — your knees track out over your toes instead of collapsing in. A light band around your knees helps you feel it.

We coach this every week here in Malta, and it often changes the lift in a single set. If your squat has been bugging you, bring it to a session and we'll sort it together.

If your lower back feels it after deadlifts, it's almost never your back's fault. Usually it's one of three things: your hips rising before the bar, no brace, or the bar drifting away from your shins.

Here's what we coach every week, here in Malta: take a big breath and brace before you pull, push the floor away with your feet, and keep the bar close the whole way up. Start light and groove it first.
