It is aimed for sailors who have been sailing with the club for some time and wish to improve their skills. Sessions mostly take place outside Marsamxett harbour. The Adult Intermediate Sailing Course starts on 20th August! Designed specifically for sailors who have completed a Level 1/Beginners sailing course, this is your chance to gain confidence, master new techniques, and get back out on the water.

What an incredible experience for our young Vikings Sailing Club Optimist sailors Enrico, Jean-Marc and Mattias, who took on the ORA Cup 2026 with a total of 600 participants and the Gold Cup 2026 with a total.of 356 participants on the beautiful waters of Lake Garda! 🇮🇹

For all three sailors, this was a first experience competing in such large and challenging international regattas — a fantastic opportunity to gain experience, confidence and, most importantly, enjoy the racing.

🏆 ORA Cup 2026 – Finals

Jean-Marc Sammut qualified for the Silver Fleet.
Enrico Putzulu Caruana and Mattias Abela sailed in the Emerald Fleet.
Our youngest sailor, Mattias, finished the regatta in style by taking 🥇 1st place in the final race in the Emerald Fleet!

⛵ Gold Cup 2026 – Finals

Jean-Marc once again qualified for the Silver Fleet.
Enrico and Mattias competed in the Bronze Fleet.
Enrico achieved an excellent 9th place in the Bronze Fleet.
In the final lottery Jean-Marc won a complementary registration for the next regatta on Lake Garda.

Beyond the results, we are incredibly proud of the commitment, courage and determination shown by these young sailors. Competing on Lake Garda against such a large international fleet is an experience they will carry with them for years to come.

A huge well done to Jean-Marc, Enrico and Mattias — keep learning, keep sailing and keep chasing those winds! 💙⛵️

During our SAILGREEN pilot sessions, young sailors took part in hands-on activities, sailing exercises, habitat observations, and sustainability challenges that helped them discover how everyday choices can make a difference. Their enthusiasm, questions, and ideas showed just how important environmental education is for the next generation of sailors.
