🐦 NEVER COUNT OUT THE BLUE BIRDS 💙

After 13 games, with just 2 games left to go in the league, the Blue Birds have risen to 1st place in the SSL rankings after a win against Beercelona.

This hard-fought and thrilling encounter lived up to the expectations, with Beercelona taking the momentum out of the blocks to take an early 1-0 lead.

However in a moment of magic, Michele Sansone played a perfect through ball through to Barthet, whose saved shot fell right into the feet of top scorer Luke Mifsud to tie the game 1-1 heading into half time.

As energy levels dropped in the second half, the Blues completed their comeback when Andy Spiteri bagged from close range to take the lead. Following a massive team effort, the boys in blue held on to win 2-1 and leapfrog Beercelona in the league table.

📆 The Blues go again next week against Club de Swat in the final stretch of the league as they push towards back to back championships in SSL.

🐦 BLUES EXTEND WINNING STREAK TO 7 GAMES 💙

Last night the Blue Birds climbed to second place, within a point of the top spot, while securing their first clean sheet of the season.

Luke Mifsud opened the scoring early, muscling his defender out of the way before slotting home with his left. Adam Bradshaw then continued his dazzling form, skipping past 2 men and rifling one into the top corner for his 6th goal in 3 games.

Not to be outdone, the Blues’ full backs Tom Griscti and Zak Farrugia then combined for a lovely goal, with the latter latching onto the end of a great cross to continue his fine form in front of goal. Top scorer Mifsud put the game to bed in the second half with a well taken finish, his 10th goal in 4 games and his 20th overall for this SSL campaign.

A special shoutout to defender Kieran Ferry and goalkeeper Samuel Mifsud, who shut the opposition out comprehensively and completed the club’s first clean sheet of the season.

📆 The Blues go again next week against Beercelona in a huge 6 point encounter, as 1st take on 2nd with only a few games left to go.

🐦 BLUE BIRDS BREAK LAST WEEK’S GOAL RECORD 💙

Last night the Blue Birds broke the SSL 2026 scoring record for a second consecutive week as they put 20 past Hoplites to take their goal difference to +50 for the season.

The Blues came flying out of the blocks as Farrugia opened the scoring within 3 minutes. The club’s talismanic number 9 Mifsud then converted from the spot, before Griscti continued his fine form in front of goal with a well placed shot in the bottom corner.

Hoplites did pull one back, but Bradshaw continued where he left off last game with a great solo goal to return the momentum to the Birds. The Blues then turned on the charm and scored 3 dazzling team goals in a row, with Mifsud, Camilleri and Farrugia all adding brilliant finishing onto the end of great passing combinations. Randon added a solo goal of his own, driving straight through the defence and finishing calmly to make the half time score 8-1.

Farrugia rounded off his hat trick early in the second half with a long range effort, before Spiteri delivered in a signature burst of energy with 4 goals in quick succession. The Blues delivered more of the same in the last 15 minutes of the game, as Mifsud, Spiteri and Camilleri combined over and over to end the game with 4 goals for Mifsud, including a goal of the season contender, and 5 goals each for Spiteri and Camilleri who share the Man of the Match award.

📆 The Blues go again next week against Qormi Hostpurs, as they look to continue this jaw-dropping form in front of goal.

🐦 BLUE BIRDS BREAK CLUB RECORD 💙

The Blue Birds delivered a resounding message last night against Verdala Stars, breaking a club record for most goals scored in one game.

The Blues were hot from the start, as Sansone bagged himself a first half hat trick, alongside well worked goals from Mifsud and Spiteri to take a 5-1 lead into the half.

The floodgates then burst open in the second half, as a rotated Blues’ squad began to fire home one goal after another when Chetcuti bagged a quick fire double before Griscti and Bradshaw both scored hat tricks of their own, the latter even adding a 4th late in the game. This half also saw a third goal in as many games from in-form Grech.

Mifsud rounded off his hat trick in the second half too, and Sansone added a 4th goal late in the game to bring the final tally to a whopping 18 goals.

📆 The boys in blue go again next week on Monday against Hoplites as they aim to continue advancing up the table.

Last night the Blue Birds took on Jhapa in what promised to be a clash of two top teams. The momentum swung both ways early on with chances at either end, before Jhapa opened the scoring with a counter attack. The Blues responded quickly however, as Jurgen Grech pulled one back with a brilliant solo goal, his second in 2 games, to take a 1-1 score into half time.

With the game hanging in the balance, the boys in blue kept applying pressure till late in the game, when a Sansone corner found club top scorer Luke Mifsud at the back post to slot home for the victory.

A massive win over title contenders, well deserved after all the boys put in a marathon shift. This puts the Birds into 4th place with 2 games in hand an an eye on the top spot.
