A SUCCESS THAT ARRIVED IN IRELAND 🇲🇹🏆

The success we celebrated in Ireland did not begin at the starting line of the World Championships. It began months before, back home at OCA.

It was built through early mornings, long training sessions, endless repetitions, sacrifices, discipline and determination. Every run, every obstacle and every difficult session had one objective — to arrive in Ireland ready to compete against the best in the world.

But the final road to Ireland was far from easy.

In the days just before the competition, injuries and sickness hit the team. Months of preparation were suddenly put at risk. Some athletes had to fight through illness, others were carrying injuries, and sadly some never even made it to the starting line.

And then came perhaps the hardest moment of all.

During our very last training session in Ireland, just before the World Championships, we witnessed an ugly dislocation that instantly ended one of our athletes’ dream of competing. After months of preparation, sacrifice and commitment, seeing everything disappear in a matter of seconds was heartbreaking for the athlete and for the whole team.

These are the moments that truly test a team — not only physically, but mentally. We had to pick ourselves up, stay united and somehow refocus on the competition ahead.

During Ireland, our athletes stepped onto the world stage carrying all those months of work — and all the emotions and difficulties of those final days — with them. Against some of the strongest OCR nations in the world, Malta showed courage, resilience and quality. 🇲🇹

The results and podiums were special, but they were only the visible part of the story. Behind every medal were months of work, setbacks, sickness, injuries, pain, sacrifice and people who refused to give up.

And now, after Ireland, the journey continues.

We celebrate what we achieved, we learn from what went wrong, and we return to training even more determined. Because success is never the end of the journey — it is proof that the process works and motivation to aim even higher.

I am incredibly proud of every athlete who represented Malta and OCA, whether they returned home with a medal or not. Every single one of them was part of this success.

Our goal was never simply to be good in Malta.
Our goal was to stand alongside the best in the world — and compete. 🇲🇹❤️

Trust the process. Stay humble. Keep working. The journey continues.
