Filter Law / Criteria for Drainage
ရွှံ့လို cohesive soil ထဲကိုရေဝင်တဲ့အခါ ဝန်အားရုပ်တရက်သက်ရောက်မှုကြောင့် excess pore water pressure (larger then hydro static pressure) ဖြစ်ပေါ်လာပြီး နီးစပ်ရာ structure အစိတ်အပိုင်းတွေကို တွန်းလှဲပစ်နိုင်ပါတယ်၊
ဒါကြောင့် သဲဆန်တဲ့မြေ (granular soil) ကို အဆောက်အဦ အစိတ်အပိုင်းတွေမှာ ဖြည့်မြေအဖြစ်သုံးရပါတယ်။
အကြောင်းအမျိုးမျိုးကြောင့် ရေဝင်လာရင်ထွက်နိုင်ဘို့ ရေထုတ်စံနစ် (drainage system) ကိုသုံးပြီးရေထုတ်ရပါတယ်။
မြေကြီးထဲကရေကို ထုတ်ဖို့လိုအပ်လာရင်၊ မြေကြီးတွေတိုက်စားပြီး ရေထဲပါမသွားဘို့ ကာကွယ်ရပါမယ်။
Filter law ဟာ ရေထဲကို မြေကြီးတိုက်စားပြီးပါမသွာဘဲ ရေစီးကောင်းဘို့ လိုအပ်တဲ့ အခြေအနေတွေပါ။

☛ Permeability Criterion (Allowing Free Drainage):
The filter must be porous enough to allow water to pass without building pressure.

☛ Uniformity:
The gradation curve of the filter material should be roughly parallel to that of the base soil to prevent particle movement.
