The Kawasaki Ninja H2 and Ninja H2R represent two extreme interpretations of Kawasaki’s supercharged motorcycle platform. Both use 998cc supercharged inline-four engines, but they were engineered for very different purposes despite sharing the same groundbreaking technology.
The Kawasaki Ninja H2 is powered by a 998cc supercharged inline-four producing around 207 HP and 133.5 Nm of torque. With a wet weight of approximately 238 kg and a top speed around 299 km/h, the H2 combines extraordinary acceleration with road-legal equipment, making it one of the most distinctive high-performance motorcycles of its generation.
The Kawasaki Ninja H2R takes the concept much further with a track-only 998cc supercharged inline-four producing around 322 HP and 165 Nm of torque. With approximately 216 kg wet and performance capable of approaching 400 km/h under exceptional conditions, the H2R was engineered with one priority: extreme speed and acceleration.
The H2 combines supercharged performance with road usability, while the H2R removes the compromises and transforms the same basic concept into a purpose-built track machine. Same displacement, same supercharged philosophy, completely different levels of performance. 🏍️🔥
