Pulsar ambassador Kevin Murphy from the UK shares the essentials he carries for his summer hunts: „At this time of year, I‘m mainly roe buck hunting during the longer summer evenings, which is why travelling light is essential. You don‘t need much, so this is exactly what I carry: a hat for those bright, sunny afternoons and evenings, a head torch for last light. I also always carry my mouth fox call around my neck.“
To keep his gear powered and maintained, Kevin packs “a compact pocket knife sharpener and a couple of spare Pulsar batteries for the Merger and riflescope.“
When it comes to his primary optic, he explains that “my device of choice for most hunts now is the Merger LRF XT50. It‘s a little bulky, but it is always my go-to due to the outstanding image quality, and detection is a must at this time of year.“
He pairs his advanced unit with traditional “binoculars that travel everywhere with me.“ Finally, for the field processing, he ensures he is fully prepared, noting, “I carry two knives — the main one and a spare,“ which he keeps alongside “two pairs of rubber gloves and some wet wipes.“

Designed for natural, one-handed control, the new Symbion encoder wheel allows for fine, incremental adjustments — from zooming to navigating menu structures — without even needing to look down at the device.
Intuitive buttons next to the wheel ensure seamless control of multispectral channels. This layout lets you maintain total situational awareness while tracking fast-moving wildlife or operating in rapidly changing light conditions.
Furthermore, its rugged, ergonomically placed controls guarantee consistent responsiveness in deep cold and maintain easy functionality even when wearing thick gloves.
