STATEMENT BY MR. CASSELL ANTHONY KUOH
Monrovia, Liberia
July 8, 2026
I want to thank my family, friends, supporters, players, staff, members of the football community, and all well-meaning Liberians who have reached out to me following recent developments concerning my role in football.
At this stage, I will not discuss the details of the ongoing process. I believe the matter should be handled through the proper channels, and I remain confident that fairness, due process, and the governing rules of football will prevail.
However, I want to make one thing clear: my commitment to football remains strong and unchanged.
Football has never been a passing interest for me. It is something I believe in deeply because of what it does for young people, families, and communities. Through football, young men and women find discipline, purpose, opportunity, exposure, and hope. Through football, people earn a living, families are supported, and communities are inspired.
My presence in football has always been about youth empowerment, competition, development, and opportunity. It has been about creating a platform where young Liberians can dream, compete, grow, and build better lives. It has also been about supporting the many coaches, players, staff, workers, vendors, families, and ordinary football lovers whose livelihoods and happiness are connected to the game.
That is why any decision that affects my participation in football is not only about me. It affects the hundreds of people who love this game, depend on these initiatives, and believe in the work we are doing to move Liberian football forward.
I remain peaceful, focused, and respectful of the process. I ask my supporters, players, staff, and the public to remain calm and patient. We must continue to believe that the right thing will be done.
To the young people and families who continue to depend on our work, I say this: our vision remains alive, our commitment remains firm, and our love for football remains unshaken.
Thank you for your continued support, prayers, and confidence.
Mr. Cassell Anthony Kuoh

The GDC Has No Power to Expel Members: The expulsion of Cassell A. Kuoh Violates the LFA Statutes.
The reported decision by the Grievance and Disciplinary Committee (GDC) to expel Cassell A. Kuoh from the Liberia Football Association (LFA) and ban him from all football related activities raise profound legal and governance concerns.
In my opinion, the decision is inconsistent with the LFA's Statutes and should be condemned in the strongest possible terms.
The LFA Statutes clearly define which bodies possess the authority to discipline, suspend and expel members.
There is no ambiguity on this issue.
Article 27(D) provides that "the expulsion of a member of the LFA can only be adopted by the Congress by a three-fourths majority of the members present and entitled to vote.
Likewise, Article 43(K) confirms that one of the exclusive powers of Congress is admitting, suspending, or expelling a Member.
These provisions leave no room for interpretation.
The authority to expel a member belongs exclusively to Congress not to the GDC.
The position is reinforced by Article 81.3, which states that the disciplinary powers of the Disciplinary Committee are subject to the powers of Congress and the Executive Committee with regard to the suspension and expulsion of members.
In other words, the committee's authority is subordinate and does not override the powers expressly reserved for Congress and the Executive Committee.
If these statutory provisions are to be respected, then a fundamental question must be answered.
How did the GDC expel Kuoh when the LFA Statutes reserve that power exclusively for Congress?
This is not merely a procedural issue.
It is a question of legality, institutional credibility and respect for the rule of law.
No committee, regardless of its intentions, can lawfully exercise powers that the statutes reserve for another organ of the LFA.
If the GDC believes that Kuoh committed serious violations warranting expulsion, the proper course would have been to make recommendations through the procedures established by the statutes, allowing the competent authority to act.
It should not assume powers that the statutes do not confer.
The LFA can’t expect clubs, players, officials, and stakeholders to respect its statutes if its own judicial bodies appear to disregard it.
Governance must be based on rules not convenience.
The statutes must apply equally to every member and every institution within Liberian football.
I therefore call on the Executive Committee and football community to provide a clear legal explanation of how this reported expulsion complies with Articles 27(D), 43(K), and 81.3 of the LFA Statutes.
If no lawful explanation exists, then the decision should be reviewed through the appropriate legal and football governance mechanisms.
The integrity of Liberian football depends not only on enforcing discipline but also on respecting the very statutes that govern the association.
When the rules are ignored by those entrusted to uphold them, confidence in the entire system is placed at risk.
I'm calling on the LFA to rescind the decision to expel Kuoh with immediate effect.

To:
The President and Executive Committee
Liberia Football Association (LFA)
Subject: Appeal for Reconsideration of the Ban on Mr. Anthony Cassell Kuoh in the Interest of Peace and Reconciliation
Dear Mr. President and Esteemed Members of the Executive Committee,
I write with the utmost respect to appeal to the Liberia Football Association to reconsider its decision to ban Mr. Anthony Cassell Kuoh from participating in football activities within Liberia.
The recent Football Association elections were among the most intensely contested in our football history. Unfortunately, the campaign period was characterized by strong emotions, divisive rhetoric, and deep polarization among stakeholders. While differences of opinion are natural in any democratic process, the elections also exposed significant divisions that continue to affect the unity of Liberian football.
At this critical moment, our football family needs healing more than further division. Decisions that are perceived as punitive or exclusionary risk widening the existing rifts and making reconciliation even more difficult. As the governing body of football in Liberia, the LFA has a unique opportunity to demonstrate leadership by promoting forgiveness, dialogue, and inclusiveness.
Reconsidering the ban on Mr. Anthony Cassell Kuoh would send a powerful message that the Association is committed to reconciliation and the collective advancement of Liberian football. Such an action should not be viewed as condoning past disagreements, but rather as recognizing that lasting progress can only be achieved when all stakeholders are encouraged to work together for the good of the game.
Liberian football has enormous potential, but realizing that potential will require unity of purpose. Players, administrators, club officials, supporters, and former leaders all have a role to play in rebuilding trust and creating an environment where football can flourish. Now is the time to bridge divides rather than deepen them.
I respectfully urge the Liberia Football Association to review this matter with compassion, fairness, and the long-term interests of Liberian football in mind. An act of reconciliation today could become the foundation for a stronger, more united football community tomorrow.
Thank you for your consideration. I remain hopeful that wisdom, peace, and the best interests of Liberian football will guide your decision.
Respectfully,
Eddie kingston

Controversy as Montserrado Sub-Association Chairman Melton Yoko accused of bending Liberia Football Association Rules and Regulations.
Tension is brewing ahead of the Lower Women’s League playoff as Montserrado County Sub-Association Chairman Melton Yoko faces accusations of violating Liberia Football Association (LFA) Rules and Regulations to favor Bushord Queens FC II.
According to Article 15 of the LFA R&R, feeder teams are permitted to be relegated but cannot gain promotion, the regulation further stipulates that if a feeder club occupies a promotional slot, the next eligible team in line shall take its place. In this case, Champ United FC should have been awarded the playoff spot, contrary to this rule, Chairman Yoko has reportedly ruled that Bushord Queens FC II will participate in the playoff, though he insists the team will not be promoted.
Football pundits has argue that this interpretation undermines the regulations and unfairly denies Champ United FC the rightful opportunity to compete, stakeholders warn that such decisions threaten the integrity of the competition and could erode trust in football governance.
Stakeholders are now calling on the LFA Executive Committee and the Chairman on Competition to urgently intervene and ensure the matter is resolved before the playoff begins.
The controversy has sparked debate among football fans and administrators, with many insisting that strict adherence to the rules is essential to protect fairness and transparency in Liberian football.

I am writing to seek official clarification on the blatant statutory violations perpetrated by the Executive Committee. By appointing two non-elected Executive Committee members to a statutory committee, they have contravened the law, which stipulates that such committees must be chaired and co-chaired by elected EC members. The statutory provision for co-opting members was designed to incorporate professional individuals with specialized knowledge in areas such as law, refereeing, and medicine, who may not be elected. This has been the standard practice, adhered to by both previous and current presidents, including the last two terms. Why is this practice now being disregarded?
What is the status of the medical and referee committees that should be represented on the Executive Committee? As you are all aware, the league experienced severe life-threatening situations last season, leading to the request for an ambulance at each venue. I have been informed that Osman Toll, was expelled alongside with, Kadiatu, from the Executive Committee during President Wesley's tenure. We are yet to know the reasons behind Osman Toll's expulsion and how he got back in football? We also want to know his contributions to football considering he has never served as a club president or been affiliated with any LFA league club in the last 10 years.
I would like to respectfully request that the Executive Committee reconsider and rescind the appointments of Ivan Brown and Osman Toll as Chairman and Co-chair of the Technical and Youth Development Committee, and instead appoint elected EC members as its Chair and Co-chair, as outlined in the LFA revised statute of 2018, amended in 2022, 2023, and 2026.
I respectfully submit
