NPA launches first‑ever fire hydrants at Freeport of Monrovia 🚒

Working with HSE Solution, the National Port Authority dedicated seven new hydrants and ran a safety drill — the first such setup — to speed fire response, boost prevention, and protect workers and facilities.

MD Sekou A. M. Dukuly called it a major milestone. HSE CEO Erickson T. Brown Sr. said training strengthens readiness for Liberia main trade gateway. Project falls under NPA RESET Strategic Plan 2025‑2030, focused on safety and better port management.

🚨UPDATE:

Ministry of Transport no longer functional — its legal role (set by August 1987 Act) to register vehicles & drivers is now handled by Lebanese‑owned LTM.

Key concern: No other country hands its core citizen/vehicle data to foreign firms — this makes national records no longer fully controlled locally. While Lebanese investors are welcome, state functions and public data should never be outsourced. Traffic work now focuses mostly on issuing fines rather than proper service.

📋 List of key services/businesses now foreign‑run or monopolized:

• 🚗 Vehicle / driver licenses → LTM (Lebanese)

• 🪪 Residence permits → Contact Global (Indian)

• 🏗️ Steel rods monopoly → Sethi Brothers

• 🆔 National ID system → NIR / OSD (Australian)

• 💊 Lucky Pharmacy → operates both wholesale + retail

Point: These arrangements put citizens at a disadvantage in their own country. Principle: People over Politics. 🇱🇷

🚨UPDATE:

From Grand Gedeh, speaking virtually from the US at CDC 22nd anniversary in Zwedru, former President George Weah stated the party is united, organized, and working to return to power in 2029.

He praised CDC as a true grassroots force and welcomed leaders from ANC, CMC, NPP, ALP, and MPC, seeing their presence as sign of stronger opposition unity.

He accused the Boakai‑led administration of democratic decline, ignoring rule of law, political targeting, failing economic promises, rising hardship/insecurity, protecting drug‑linked figures, and weakening state institutions.

Message: “Road to 2029 starts now” — call for full mobilization across all opposition groups.

Emmanuel Gonquoi 🗣️ EFFL Is Now Liberia Third‑Largest Party

Emmanuel Gonquoi states the Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia (EFFL) ranks third nationally — based on two years of membership records and growing outreach. He noted that if 60 % of registered members voted, the party would hold that position compared to 2023 election results.

He highlighted activities like engagement on Old Road as proof EFFL stays active beyond elections, unlike rivals he accuses of abandoning citizens afterward. He also disclosed the party is near joining a respected global political group, ending with the slogan: “Our feet shall take us there! The Coming Revolution.”

🚨UPDATE:

Senator Samuel Kogar of Nimba describes Vice President Jeremiah Koung pledge to provide solar electricity and infrastructure support for Cuttington University as misleading, noting it was announced outside the national budget and without legislative approval. He insists government commitments must follow legal procedures and be clearly separated from personal contributions — emphasizing this stands for accountability, not politics or personal attack. Attending mainly as parent of a master graduate, he raised no issue with not being formally recognized. He agreed that “education plus character” is a sound message, yet observed: “The message is true, but the evidence is false.” VP Koung stated the government intends to back the university development.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

President Boakai Suspends INCHR Chairperson, Appoints Acting Chairman Pending Investigation

June 26, 2026

Executive Mansion, Monrovia –President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has suspended the Chairperson of the Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR), Cllr. Dempster Brown, for an indefinite period without pay, pending the outcome of investigations into serious allegations of misconduct.

The decision follows formal complaints submitted by Commissioners of the INCHR
alleging that Cllr. Brown forged their signatures on a petition for a writ of Habeas Corpus filed before the Supreme Court of Liberia on November 12, 2024.

According to the complaints, the petition was filed without the knowledge or consent of
the affected Commissioners, who further contended that Chairman Brown misrepresented the filing as an official decision of the Commission.

The allegations, if substantiated, constitute a violation of Liberia’s Penal Law, Title 26,
Section 15.70, relating to the offense of forgery.

In addition to the forgery allegations, three Commissioners have accused Chairman
Brown of failing to convene board meetings for nearly two years, contrary to the statutory
requirements governing the operations of the Commission.

The complaints further allege that he arbitrarily withheld the compensation of fellow Commissioners without legal authority as a punitive measure arising from disagreements over his decisions.

In keeping with his commitment to accountability, transparency, and respect for the rule of law, President Boakai has directed the Ministry of Justice to conduct a thorough
investigation into the allegations and to take all appropriate legal actions should the
claims be substantiated.

The President has also instructed Cllr. Brown to immediately surrender all government
assets in his possession to the General Services Agency.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Cllr. Mohammed E. Fahnbulleh has been designated to serve
as Acting Chairperson of the Independent National Commission on Human Rights pending further notice.

The Boakai Administration remains steadfast in its commitment to strengthening public
institutions, upholding integrity in governance, and ensuring that all public officials are held accountable under the laws of the Republic of Liberia.

Atty. Kula Bonah Nyei Fofana
