J. Melton Yoko Development Through Sports 2026 “Who Own the SKD Community Tournament” Concludes Successfully

Hon. J. Melton Yoko and his team have successfully concluded the 2026 “Who Own the SKD Community Tournament”, organized under the J. Melton Yoko Development Through Sports initiative, at the SKD Annex in Paynesville City, Montserrado County, Liberia.

The closing ceremony brought together participating communities from across District #6, marking the successful end of a tournament that promoted football, unity, and community engagement.

Following the football matches, community members, chairpersons, youth leaders, and other local stakeholders took part in a celebration filled with fun, interaction, and fellowship, further strengthening the bond among the participating communities.

Community leaders praised the initiative, describing it as a meaningful platform that uses sports to unite young people and foster peaceful coexistence. They commended Hon. J. Melton Yoko for his vision and commitment to youth empowerment through sports and community development.

Speaking during the event, several community chairpersons emphasized the importance of continuing such initiatives.

“This tournament is very important for our youths and the people of District #6 because it brings us together as one family. Through sports, we are able to share moments of joy, strengthen unity, and build stronger relationships among our communities.”

C. Roosevelt Clayton has been crowned Best Coach of the Tournament following the successful conclusion of the 2026 J. Melton Yoko Development Through Sports – “Who Owns the SKD Community Tournament.”

Coach Clayton played a pivotal role in guiding SKD Community to the championship, leading his side to a convincing 4–1 victory over Nagbeh Town in the grand final at the SKD Annex.

Throughout the tournament, he demonstrated tactical discipline, patience, and confidence in his squad, inspiring his talented young players to deliver outstanding performances and ultimately lift the championship trophy.

Nagbeh Town secured a cash prize of LRD 10,000.00 after finishing as runners-up in the 2026 J. Melton Yoko Development Through Sports – “Who Own SKD Community Tournament” held at the SKD Annex.

Despite suffering a 4–1 defeat to SKD Community in the grand final, Nagbeh Town enjoyed an impressive tournament campaign and earned second place honors.

As runners-up, the team received LRD 10,000.00 in prize money in recognition of their outstanding performance throughout the competition.

This is Alexander Freeman CKA Cheneken a former Liberian professional footballer who played as a midfielder for the Senior National team of Liberia and other clubs.

During his playing days Alexander Freeman played for clubs including, Invincible Eleven, Al-Nassr, Kelantan FA, Al-Rayyan, Perlis FA, Selangor FA and PSMS Medan

He was part of Liberia national football team in the 1996 African Cup of Nations and played a huge role in Liberia’s famous Weah open it Debbah close it victory against Ghana. 🇬🇭
