DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD: ROSHAN RODRIGO

His Antonian spirit was forged early. As a student he threw himself into college life, playing soccer and competing in athletics a sporting career cut short only by misfortune, having twice broken his arm on the field.

An ardent servant of the Old Boys’ Association, Roshan served as Secretary from 2003 to 2004 and has held the office of Treasurer on seven occasions over the past twenty years, maintaining throughout an unblemished record a testament to the trust his fellow Antonians place in him.

As a Vice President of the Athletic Wing, he has continued to give of himself in countless ways. Roshan Rodrigo stands as a role model to every young Antonian. The Athletic Wing is proud to honour him.

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD: SUKUMAL FERNANDO

Vice President of the Old Boys Association and Deputy President of the Athletic Wing, Sukumal Fernando has given over four decades of quiet, steadfast service to St. Anthony’s College and, more recently, to the Athletic Wing. As Advisor to the College Dormitory Project, he has lent his counsel to one of the College’s most important undertakings, ensuring that Antonians of the future are as well provided for as those of the past.

Together with his brothers, Sukumal has been a pillar of strength a contribution whose value cannot be measured in figures alone. As Head of the Athletic Wing Scholarships Programme, he has turned that generosity into opportunity, raising over Rs. 1.5 million to date so that deserving young Antonians may pursue their education unhindered by circumstance.

Beyond every title and initiative, it is his unfailing willingness to help in ways seen and unseen that endears him to all who serve alongside him. For a lifetime of dedication offered without expectation of reward, the Athletic Wing is proud to honour Sukumal Fernando.
