IGFA REPRESENTATIVE IN SRI LANKA/PHILIP WEINMAN

Hey friends..
so today was a cool day..turns out the Snub Nose Pompano i caught few weeks back is a Sri Lankan record for this species. The catch/record has been officially ratified by the Ceylon Sport Fishing Club.

Below is a message posted by the club!!

" I'am please to inform Anglers in Sri Lanka that a 4.63 Kg Snubnose Pompano (Trachinotus Blochii) was caught by Sacha Peiris on the 18th of December 2021 while Surf Fishing Off Bambalapitiya and qualifies for a Sri Lankan record for this specie of fish. It is a rare specie and will also be submitted internationally as not many of these fish have been recorded even internationally. I'am currently in touch with the IGFA to have submission done internationally. Congratulations Sacha, great achievement. The certification and other work is in progress and will be informed in due course"
