Hari Om 🙏
The photo in this post is one I happened to come across on the internet a few days ago. The post was shared by Kasper and Sofia, who live in Poland. They are both yoga teachers who are doing wonderful work by sharing yoga in their country. Today, they have become two of the well-known yoga teachers in Poland.
I first met them in Sri Lanka, long before they became yoga teachers. During that time, they spent many days learning and practicing yoga with me. Even now, whenever they visit Sri Lanka, they never forget to come and see me. Every time they visit, they generously share their yoga experiences with the students who come to learn from me.
Over the years, we have built a beautiful friendship filled with kindness, respect, and heartfelt connection. Whenever I come across posts like this online, and whenever I see my students from Sri Lanka and around the world serving the philosophy of yoga, I feel a joy that is beyond words.
I believe my role as a yoga teacher is like a oil lamp—or perhaps a candle.
I may not be a great or famous person, but I have always shared everything I know with sincerity and to the best of my ability. My students then pass that knowledge on to many others. It is just like one lamp or candle lighting countless other lamps and candles, spreading light from one to another.
To everyone reading this post, and especially to all my students in Sri Lanka and around the world who have learned yoga with me, I wish you peace and happiness. May you continue to spread peace, love, and joy into the lives of many more people. You all have my heartfelt blessings.
Om Shanti. 🙏🕉️

One of the most beautiful experiences in life is revisiting the precious memories of our past again and again.
I believe many of you feel the same way.
I often think that I am someone who has experienced both the deepest hardships a person can endure and some of the greatest joys and comforts that life can offer. Because of that, I feel an immense sense of gratitude for all the good and bad experiences that have shaped my journey.
When I reflect on the many turning points in my life, I feel that being given the opportunity to teach yoga to international travelers was a blessing carried from past good karma. As far as I can remember, I first taught yoga in a tourist hotel around 2005. (At that time, yoga was not such popular as it is today.)
Since then, I have met countless travelers from all over the world. Through conversations with them about their cultures, lifestyles, beliefs, and perspectives, I have gained experiences and insights that, in my opinion, could never be acquired simply by reading books or earning a university degree. (By this, I do not mean that I know everything in the world.)
Inspired by the teachings of the Buddha, whom I deeply respect and love, I try to live with a constant awareness of the impermanent nature of life.
Yet whenever I become absorbed in learning something new, I completely lose track of time. The same happens when I practice yoga or when I passionately share yoga with others. In those moments, I do not think about time or any other concerns. The beautiful feeling that arises is something very difficult to put into words.
So today, from the depths of my heart, I offer my sincere gratitude to my first yoga teacher, to all the other yoga teachers, meditators, and healers who have guided and inspired me, to the dear friend who first introduced me to the tourism industry many years ago, and to every wonderful person who has shared beautiful experiences and precious moments with me throughout my life.
With deep gratitude and loving-kindness to all. 🙏💛✨
