🇱🇰 A Proud Moment for Sri Lankan Football!

Congratulations to Mr. Jaswar Umar on his unanimous appointment as Vice President of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) at the SAFF Executive Committee Meeting held in Bhutan.

This remarkable achievement reflects the confidence and respect he has earned across all seven SAFF member nations—Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives.

Under Mr. Jaswar Umar’s leadership as President of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL), Sri Lankan football has witnessed significant progress. In just over two years, Sri Lanka has climbed more than 20 places in the FIFA World Rankings, reaching its highest international ranking in over 15 years. His vision, commitment, and leadership have also strengthened football governance, domestic competitions, youth development, and long-term football growth across the country.

In addition to his new role as SAFF Vice President, Mr. Umar also serves as a member of the FIFA Grassroots Football Committee and the AFC Development Committee, further highlighting his contribution to the development of football on the international stage.

This appointment is not only a personal milestone but also a proud achievement for Sri Lankan football. As we look ahead to the upcoming SAFF Championship this November, we wish him continued success in leading Sri Lankan football to even greater heights.
